I had never been to this memorial. It’s quite interesting. It’s not far from the Washington. You can do a loop around and see them all

I've been here several times in the past but never at night. This time we made a point of walking there at night and it was spectacular. It is current under some renovations and improvements for people with mobility needs, It is worth a visit at night.

Walked around the pond and enjoyed exploring the monuments. This monument was full of quotes and had an excellent view over the water. Buses made it easy to access for those not in walking distance.

This wa s a beautiful memorial. It is going through a rennovation and not everything is accessible. At least the center is open and you can see the statue of Jefferson.

While in DC we wanted to be sure we were able to see the Jefferson Memorial. We weren't interested, necessarily, in going in, but just to be able to see it.

I have issues with my knees, so I didn't plan on doing much more than taking pictures of the sites from the car, which is what I did.

What a beautiful building! And at night it's even better! It's a must see, for sure!

Don't believe what others or the media say about TJ. Go to his monument and read for yourself what he wrote, especially about slavery. His own words reveal the truth of who he was and what he believed. Don't pay attention to anyone who has an agenda that is not based on the truth.

The view is likely stunning, but the construction severely hindered it when I was there. While impressively constructed, I wish the memorial gave more perspective on Jefferson. I feel like I learned nothing about a man who was as controversial during his life as he is today.

Not really that close to the mall or any other memorials, so it feels much more intentional to visit. The statue itself is meh, but the view on the water is nice. I wish I would have brought a snack

* One must walk a distance to get there
* Currently, there is construction

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because I am always drawn to its beauty and its grandeur. I loved walking and approaching it, seeing it closed up, ascending the steps, viewing the towering gigantic likeness statue of him in a statesman pose, and also I read the quotes on the walls of his documents

I didn’t enjoy getting there by car and trying to park.

TIPS
First of all, it’s fantastic to see from afar and from close- do your best to go.

You can park at the paddle boat launch site of the Tidal Basin and walk over a kind of foot bridge or you can park at the very end of Ohio Drive SW.

Do not forget that it is metered parking.

I HOPE THAT YOU FIND THIS REVIEW AND MY ATTACHED PHOTOS TO BE “HELPFUL.”
