The G. Washinton, T. Jefferson and A. Lincoln monument and memorials, occupy two ends and the heart of the "cross" of DC's city center, and occupy the hearts of American people. No trip to DC is complete without paying pilgrimage to all these. They are...More

This was our favorite of all the memorials. We walked from the mall across the bridge/road to the memorial in the late afternoon. The lighting on the water and the other memorials across the water with many of the other DC landmarks in the distance...More

Make sure to allow time to read the quotes on the inside. This area is great to have a picnic on the grass and look at the Tidal Basin. I was surprised to find a whole level below the memorial with more information, clean bathrooms...More

The memorial is equally as impressive as the Lincoln Memorial, but it is not an easy spot to get to. You have to cross several streets and bridges to get there. It IS, however, worth getting to. I loved reading Jefferson's philosophies that are written...More

I couldn't wait to see this memorial and wasn't disappointed. It was hot and humid the whole 5 days we were there, but walking up the steps meant that I would see the statue I want to see.

The Jefferson Memorial is an easy walk from the Mall and has great views. The memorial is impressive and and a great honor for Thomas Jefferson.

This beautiful memorial dedicated to Thomas Jefferson reminds one of the olden Roman or Grecian architecture. It is made of granite and marble and houses the statue of this great President with his iconic statement.

It's a nice monument, but seems lacking when compared to the Lincoln Memorial. I'd suggest seeing it if you can, but I wouldn't go out of my way again to see it.

I find this memorial to be the best memorial in DC. The setting, on the Tidal Basin, greatly enhances the majesty of the site. The interior is full of inspirational writings of Jefferson.

From where can you take a picture of someone so that you can see the whole memorial in the background? You're too close when you're actually at the memorial.

The best shot is probably from along the tidal basin pathway.
