Barricades everywhere, I understand security is a priority but it really does take away the magic of seeing the White House in all its glory! You can apply to your local Congressman or national Embassy in DC for a free tour which runs a couple...More

We had the opportunity to visit The White House while in D.C. recently and all I can say is that it was a great experience. We visited a few days after Thanksgiving and it was already decorated for Christmas. We visited many years ago, but...More

The building itself is already ingrained in everybody's minds and is nice to look at but the surrounding area is also quite beautiful, especially if you walk around it. It's full of historical buildings and architecture. The newest thing here is the increased presence of...More

It was great to see the White house up close . Its architect was actually Irish and if you look closely you can see some of the lines of the building are indicative of that. It was December so the White House was dressed up...More

Our group met at the tour entrance. It’s at the back of the White House, across the street from the White House Visitors Center. (Use the bathroom there before heading to the White House. There are no public restrooms at the White House.) You must...More

I love the White House. I have been a few times but the best was when I had dinner there by invitation. It's such a "cattle trek" if you go without having someone give you a private tour but all in all it's still a...More

Up early due to jet lag and went walking. It was great to catch it at sunrise - with the added benefit of no crowds! Grand, iconic, impressive. Go and see it; of course.

Hi, Depending on the line you come in on - either McPherson Sq, Farragut West or North are probably your best bet. Hope that helps!
