A hidden gem in DC! This paved path is great for running/walking and cycling, and it has mile markers every half mile. Flush toilets at Fletcher Cove, where the free parking lots are. Running parallel for a bit is the C&O towpath for those who prefer a sand/gravel path. Great views of the city including the Washington Monument.

If you are the type that likes to explore new sites, great nature, sightseeing from unusual spots, you should enter the Capital Crescent Trail. You can access from downtown DC to go up to North Bethesda, MD I visited the trail last week, with great fall landscape, even had the chance to spot deer in the trail. You feel part... More

We were interested in the dark pink blossoms on a few of the trees. Are the those the Cherry Trees. I didn't think they bloomed so early.

The Capital Crescent Trail from Bethesda to Georgetown is an very accessible trail for bikers at most levels. Riding to Georgetown in pretty easy, slight downhill incline most of the way. You can make a day of it in Georgetown or just have lunch at one of the many restaurants. We ate with the open air breeze blowing in at... More

The trail runs from Northern Washington all the way to Georgetown and even the Lincoln monument. It only crosses roads for a tiny fraction of the way so is very family friendly. From the north it is all downhill and easy going. As it approaches Washington it hugs the Potomac and is very scenic. Going north it is uphill but... More

Love this 7 mile long trail thru pretty bridges and next to nice quaint neighborhoods. I felt safe on this busy trail even when it got dark plus the entrance is near the Bethesda Row are so you can finish up and go grab a nice salad or coffee or quick bite al fresco for dinner or lunch!

Lovely and well kept trail that runs from Bethesda to Georgetown. No big hills to climb in either direction. I love when it reaches the Potomac and then you can bike along the river!

This trail is a much used and much needed pedestrian conduit between Silver Spring / Bethesda to Georgetown. I used it for running and biking. If I lived there for longer, I would likely have used it for commuting. Save the Trail!

I have biked along the Capital Crescent Trail many times and each time love it all over again. The nature around which the trail is wrapped is magnificent, and the trail itself, with the exception of the stretch between Bethesda and Silver Spring, is paved. The trail is a great way to get to Georgetown or Foggy Bottom from Bethesda/Silver... More

We rode our bikes from Bethesda to Georgetown ( had lunch) and then to the Lincoln Memorial. The trail is very well maintained and easy to navigate. We had 4 kids with us ages 10-13 and they had a blast! It's a great way to enjoy our nation's capital and see the sights without hoping in and out of the... More
