A great float trip, but the river bed is ROUGH!

Bring aqua shoes. That is the one tip I give. That being said, the trip is pretty scenic, fun and relaxing. Four hours is a good ballpark, only if you don't stop much at all... read more

Bring aqua shoes. That is the one tip I give. That being said, the trip is pretty scenic, fun and relaxing. Four hours is a good ballpark, only if you don't stop much at all. Plan for 5-6 and pack accordingly. Make sure to stop at Smith falls. It's pretty damn cool.

Our initial idea to stay the night and continue toward SD's Badlands National Park were changed when we read about the beautiful area surrounding Valentine. What a gem! We hiked to 3 waterfalls and the kids (ages 12, 8 and 4) were able to manage the paths easily. They were able to actually PLAY in the waterfalls and their pools!... More

The first 4 hours of the float is definitely the most scenic. After that it is your typical Midwestern river....grass and a few trees on the banks. Very easy to kayak, only paddling was to correct your direction! I would call someone to see how the water level is. They said it was "quite high" and we found quite a... More

I have traveled for business for over 30 years. I have stayed at various motels/hotels ranging from the Ritz Carlton to the local Mom and Pop variety. I have always liked to see pictures of any place I might be staying as I don't like surprises! When I looked at the NRR site and didn't see any pictures of the... More

It's a really peaceful area and relaxing and you'll have the time of your life...BUT.... I'll warn you about one thing CONCERNING THE RIVER.and please take it to heart from my own experience. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE FUN OF THE RIVER. EVER. While your canoeing/rafting or tubing down the river. I did twice and both time within seconds I almost... More

We are book again for another weekend in the Oak Cabin for kayaking and tubing. Niobrara River Ranch is a great place to stay. We have stayed in every cabin at least once except Walnut and this will be our third time in Oak and we have camped at Allen Bridge so this has to be at least our ninth... More

My husband and I stayed in Love, Nebraska on our way to Yellowstone. We had a great time and kayaked down the Niobrara River. It was awesome and we got to see deer along the river as we kayaked by. I highly recommend if you are going through Love, Nebraska.

We have a large group of women stay with Lee, "the fiesty cowboy" as we like to call him, at his NRR cabins every year. We have had as few as 5 and up to 17 one year. 6 years now to be exact and we will NEVER go with any one else! We have stayed in 4 different cabins... More

My family and I just spend a wonderful three days at the Niobrara River Ranch. Lee, the owner, was more than accommodating and pleasant. We stayed in the Oak log cabin which was exceptionally clean and very nice with a great view. Tubing was a lot of fun however, we would recommend the four hour which will take at least... More

This was my husband and my's first visit. However the party of 13 have been making this trip 8 years now. Our cabin was beautiful. When I walked in the cabin, I could smell "clean". Great first impression! Our float trip was flawless. They help you load all of your coolers ( we had 5 or 6). One of our... More
