I grew up going to my family lake house on Lake Rathbun (Iowa) every weekend. I have seen countless sunsets over enormous lakes. I truly have never seen such a beautiful sunset over a more magnificent lake before. Definitely worth the trip!

I'm not exaggerating! Lake of the Ozarks is so big (1300 miles of shoreline) that if you like lots of activity you can go to the Bagnell Dam Strip area, or if you want a quiet fishing spot, you can go roughly 40 miles upstream to the "quiet side" of the lake. Either way, you'll pass by excellent restaurants, premier... More

I have been coming to the Lake of the Ozarks for years. One thing I noticed about some of the reviews are about such a small area of the Lake of the Ozarks. What you need to understand is the Lake of the Ozarks is a long lake, nearly 80 miles. Parts of it near Osage Beach have huge wakes... More

This huge winding lake is just breath taking. Scenery, wildlife, fishing, camping. All kinds of stuff to do around the area.

Great place for a couples get away, if you like boating, water sports, golf, shopping or just a relaxing time this area is for you. Accommodation abound with locations close to the lake and in nearby towns which surround the lake. See you there

Having never been to Lake of the Ozarks, I was thoroughly impressed with the area - the quality of the accommodations, the food, the local attractions and so much more. I stayed in three different places - Alhonna Resort, Old Kinderhook and Rainbow Shore Resort. All three were top notch in their own special ways. I will write reviews for... More

We had a blast! There's a ton of stuff to do! We rented a boat for the weekend and the whole family enjoyed it! I recommend renting one of the houses on the water we rented one in a cove and it was nice and quite the water was calm the kids could fish and swim without worrying about all... More

There is something for everyone here. It's January and so nice we are touring the dam. Summer is the best time to visit. There are still lots of mom and pop motels around and the big resorts too. It's easy to rent a boat or jet ski .

Beautiful water and great food by the lake! Of course don't drink and swim and you will be fine ! Boat rides are fun! The boardwalk is a bit deserted but there is also a brand new movie theater a few miles away !

2014 and again in 2015, 8 out of 8 people in our group became ill during our summer trips to the Lake of the Ozarks. The DNR tests for EColi around the beaches, but does not report it until the season is about over. I wonder why? Very disturbing! By the way, we were 7 miles away from any public... More
