A nice little hike with a great view

This is, according to locals, the highest elevation point in the region. The walk is uphill of course but is an easy climb. There are handrails to make it easier. The fall colors are spread in a panorama. I suggest going up at a trail marked by signs. Coming down you can take a trail just as you leave the... More

Although this is a vertical hike, once at the top, the view is well worth it. Benches along the trail make the climb easier.

We had a great hike with our boys. Ages 2,5, and 8, they climbed it by themselves. I took a little bit more time! Great view.

My husband and I took a drive to see if leaves were turning yet and ventured north of Alexandria, MN into Ottertail County. We were driving quiet little back roads when we came upon Insporation Peak. I'd been there many years ago with my parents and once when our kids were small. It hasn't changed. We hiked up to the... More

We were there this morning. We got there around 10:30am. It is a very steep hike, but it is short and quick. I would NOT consider this with a stroller or anyone who has any sort of issues with stairs. There are two stops where a bench is available for a break. I consider myself and my kids to be... More

Spending time in Ottertail County, we discovered this beautiful view of the western prairie. What a surprise to find this elevation! Just the drive out to Inspiration Park is beautiful, going through rolling hills, forest and prairie. Take the time and make the drive. We arrived at the park, the area is well signed and easy to find.....and hopped out... More

It's an out of way place and a heavy breathing inducing climb to the top, but it really is a nice view at the top and worth fighting the mosquitoes if you are there during that season. I won't say it is breathtaking, but for a generally flat part of Minnesota, it is a surprising vista and changes with the... More

This state park, located about 10 miles north of Alexandria, Minnesota, is a wonderful get away. We were pleasantly surprised at the clarity of the water. There are two campgrounds (121 drive in sites). The one we stayed at was right along the lake. The campsites are spacious and have electric (81 sites). Water is available to fill your tanks... More

A nice walk up the hill provides an incredible view of the area. Visited by Sincair Lewis when he lived in Sauk Center
