Daughter just moved to Minnesota so checking out some of the local state parks. This one had a great walk along the Mississippi River. There is a wonderful trail telling you of the local history. We only got to walk a little of the park but we're looking forward to going back in the Spring! Paths were snow-covered and not... More

We reserved the group campsite for our annual family camping. It was a perfect match when we scouted in back in March and in May but on the day of the camping....totally different story. PROS: Extremely private and far far away distance from general campers - 5 star. The space was perfect. CONS: To many mosquitos! I mean LOTS! Mosquito... More

The park is nice, and if you enjoy canoeing or biking especially you will enjoy it. The campground was nice enough, but the Speedway in Brainerd attracts an interesting culture of people on the weekends, and I've never stayed in such a loud campground in my life. It's probably fine if you're in an RV, but in a tent it... More

I took my sisters here beginning of August and there were so many mosquitoes. We had a site next to the Mississippi (21) which was great for hammocking and was nice, but at our site and when we tried to hike is was impossible to escape the bugs. We when through cans of bug spray. There did seem to be... More

Crow Wing State Park is one of my favorites. I have visited many times before. We live out of the area so only get here once a year. Easy to find and get to - close to the rest stop with the Paul Bunyon photo op. Excellent, extensive trails. They are really well marked and offer a variety of different... More

We visited this past weekend with my 13 year old grandson and two of his friends. We were at campsite #30 and while I would have preferred more distance between campsites (especially with three teenage boys), it was better than many state parks. The park was well kept and clean with many miles of hiking/skiing trails that were wide enough... More

This is a beautiful place to visit. The park is well maintained with well signed trails. The trails take you through various habitats for wildlife viewing and the views of the confluence of the Crow Wing River and the Mississippi are stunning. There is interesting history here too, and again the information is well displayed. We visited on a warm,... More

Crow Wing State Park is an easy morning’s drive from the Twin Cities. The park is well-maintained and offers a variety of hiking trails, including an interpretive history trail through the site of the Old Crow Wing Village on the banks of the river (many of the signs need repair, though). This trail includes historic and re-created structures and monuments... More

Nice big campsites. Bathrooms are very well tended. And closer than it appears on the site map. Our campsite was very private. We had #31. Can kayak, canoe up and down river. Hiking available however hikers said it was very buggy. Biked the Paul Bunyan trail.

The park is extremely pretty, with great views of the Mississippi River and well maintained trails. The trails can get buggy at spots, but generally the bugs were not any worse than other campgrounds I've stayed at in the area. Our campsite (#27) had no cell reception to speak if so it was a true getaway without having to pack... More
