Beautiful, difficult but playable course in the middle of no where

It was cold and we had a frost delay but we had heard so many positive things about this course we decided to tough it out. It was indeed beautiful and playable. Felt there were... read more

Well folks, we went to this place based of some rave reviews. Major disappointment. The rooms were very, very basic, with ultra thin walls. You could hear people whispering in the hall way...no joke. The golf course was mediocre at best, as was the food and service. I would never go back to this place and can't recommend it to... More

It was cold and we had a frost delay but we had heard so many positive things about this course we decided to tough it out. It was indeed beautiful and playable. Felt there were two holes that were too blind. Would be nice if the score card had a map of the course/holes. I am not big on having... More

My wife and I are on holiday in the area and were recommended to play Forest Dune golf course with friends from Michigan, we were not disappointed, what a wonderful days golf!! Friendly staff, amazing position set in forests, they have designed a course sympathetic with the terrain, a challenging course, but quite playable. After the game we ate in the restaurant and... I stayed and played for 3 days at Forest Dunes in late August 2016. Pro Shop and Staff: Top Shelf. They had our clubs ready every morning, knew our names after about an hour on site, had our score cards printed out and even rode around mid round to check on us. Couldn't really ask for anything more. Caddies: We... More

Probably the best maintained course I've seen. Nice layout and not a lot of blind shots. First time I played it and I really enjoyed it. Didn't play the new Loop course but it sounds interesting. Maybe next time!

We had very enjoyable dinner. If you're not driving try a Bloody Mary with sausage it was very good. The service was friendly and timing was good. If you're looking for a nice restaurant in Grayling, MI give it a try.

If you read my reviews, I hold a special place for Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas. I often refer to it as Disneyland for golfers. It is still my #1 track I have played. However, Forest Dunes is Heaven on Earth for golfers. This property is so unique and the course is so playable, that it is literally... More

There is the main FD course and the Loop which depending on the day can be played clockwise or anti-clockwise. Main FD course is good ,not great, but seems to be highly regarded so I guess it appeals to some more than it did me. One selling point is that the front 9 is forest and the back dunes but... More

Was a bit hard to find Forest Dunes as it's in the middle of nowhere but boy is it worth the trip. From the time we arrived, everything and everyone was first class. Their goal is to have you tell someone about their course AND to come back again. The course was in great condition. A mix of links style... More

Forest Dunes Golf Club remains a gem of a golf course. It is as beautiful and challenging as ever. The new Loop course will likely have its day in the sun and the concept is novel indeed, but opening it up so soon is a mistake. The greens are rock hard and the fairways still aren't filled in. The fairways... More
