Wonderful beauty! If you are visiting on a holiday -go early. There are three parking lots and if you have someone who prefers to walk short distances ask the parking lot folks if you can park in the closest lot.

The trip to see The Maroon Bells is well worth the little side trip. A bus ticket was $8 roundtrip, purchased at The Aspen Highlands Ski, 10 miles west of Aspen off Hwy 82 up Maroon Creek Rd, well worth it. From 8-5, or you might be allowed entrance in your own vehicle before/after hours, if I recall. Claimed to... More

Well, maybe not every one. But the challenges and rewards were very well balanced, and I would go back in a heartbeat. We enjoyed stunning views, wildlife, and wildflowers, and the good fortune of perfect weather. We hiked this loop (in 4 days/3 nights) counter-clockwise, starting with Buckskin Pass, then on to Trail Rider the second day, Frigid Air and... More

We rode to Maroon bells and walked to the lake to see the lake which was beautiful. We took the morning trip. We then were outfitted with bikes to ride back down and into town. The scenery was beautiful and we had stops along the way to have water and snack breaks. Very nice event.

We didnt do all the trails so i am not completely informed. But what we did do was an easy relaxing hike. The Maroon Bells peak was more breath taking than any picture can convey.

This is one of America's great paradises. In every direction there is a "Wow" moment. The mountains, meadows, lakes, streams, rivers and everything about this is wondrous.

Excellent hike! Long! Absolutely beautiful scenery all the time. 8 Miles one way to Snowmass Lake from the Snowmass Creek Trailhead. 6 miles in you get to a beaver dam about 100-150 feet across....and the trail picks back up on the other side of the creek. You have to cross the beaver dam.....what fun! After that it's about 2 to... More
