If you are traveling to/from Mammoth Lakes this is a road to take if you get tired of 395. Located between Bishop and Loan Pine. Dusty but easy drive. Impressive landscape. You can easily imagine westerns and action movies shot there in the 30's. Route runs along the 395 so it will add probably 20 extra minutes to the trip... More

We drove this just before we headed out of Lone Pine. Had lots of fun running around and staging shoot outs and such. Pay close attention to the maps. It's a bit confusing. I like that it isn't sign posted though. The Alabama Hills are being keep natural. Even if you aren't into Westerns it's a beautiful area to walk... More
