The road up to the lake is absolutely horrible! Mostly one lane with 2 way traffic. It's paved but is patched with patches on top of patches. I skipped the lake itself and drove up to the waterfall above the lake. With all the runoff...More

Beautiful hidden place, single lane and very narrow road may not be liked by all. But, very isolated and beautiful place. There are many springs, waterfalls worth visit. If you can try to take walk from main road or nearest parking available.

Seriously? I do not know how anyone can complain about this lake. Clear water, beautiful views. We chose to visit the waterfall which requires zero hiking. If you have a problem with the one lane roads then stay home, you are a zero adventure person....More

We traveled the Oregon and California coasts, Yosemite and last stop on our trip was South Lake Tahoe. Saw MANY lakes on our trip, but this was our favorite. Rented bikes from Anderson Bike Rental and rode to the lake, but there are also campsites....More

We love Fallen Leaf Lake and hike and camp there on a regular basis. There are a number of reviews that talk about the narrow road along the lake and find it to be a difficult drive. While the store/cafe at the far end of...More

We enjoyed a peaceful day at Fallen Leaf Lake, we packed a picnic and enjoyed it lakeside. Rented a kayak for a fabulous paddle next to tall mountains. There is a wonderful country store there near the public beach area. The staff was so helpful...More

We just stopped in for a quick visit since my travel partner had not been there in a long time. Would have been a 5 except for the road in. We drove the one lane road back to the lodge and marina. It took about...More

this little one lane road runs along the lake and it is a pretty view. but beware--only one car can pass at a time so you constantly have to pull over. that is workable with effort, and allowing plenty of time. but the rough road...More

This is a nice campground that the sites are not on top of each other with a short hike to get to the lake. The campground has showers and a small store, the staff were friendly. The lake is about five miles long, at the...More

Hi past campers at Fallen Lake, I see a few reviews about the "one way" and "narrow" drive- how long is this unpleasant, one way path? Thank you!

Only a short distance to the campground and to that point, it's really not bad. If your going to continue on the road, say to the other end of the lake, it's pretty narrow. Fine with a car or regular truck. Just be patient... More
Would anyone know if there's cell service at this campground?

Response from David C |
There is not great cell service at this camp ground. We had Verizon on our visit and had very little connection, intermittently, to check email. Not enough solid, consistent connection to check the internet or social media.

Hi David, my family & I are going up first week of August, 2015. What kind of weather can we expect? Warm? Hot days cool/cold nights? Windy? Summer storms? Also we like to SUP & plan to bring our boards. However we only have hard boards not inflatables. Will they be too comber some? And how long of a walk to the lake from the campsite? Thanks for your help, E

It will be warm, hot on the lake. But weather changes quickly up there and there is a chance of summer storms. The campground at Fallen Leaf Lake is pretty tree covered so there is plenty of shade. Nights will be chilly but... More
