9 mile round trip well worth the sore body. Views are incredible 360 degrees around. If you can hike that far, you've got to DO IT!

9 mile round trip well worth the sore body. Views are incredible 360 degrees around. If you can hike that far, you've got to DO IT!

If your near Anchorage then you should atleast take this drive up Glenn Hwy. The Matanuska River is pretty scenic and very wide in some areas. Their are cliffs and salmon runs along this road. The glacier is the main highlight for the road and valley. The dull sheep reserve is good but take binoculars.

This beautiful valley (also called Matsu valley) is located about 35 miles north-east of Anchorage along the Glenn Highway. The area is said to have 24 hour sun and famous for its huge cabbages.
