Hi Scarlet, I spent over 3 weeks traveling solo across Cuba. It's absolutely safe. You get everywhere the typical Cuban catcalling but just ignore it. They are harmless. If you will stay at hotel they will have various tours on offer including swimming with dolphins so it will be easier for you. I was staying at casas, so had to research everything on my on. Also yes, they take major currencies including British pounds. However later I just paid by card (visa debit) or withdrew money from ATM later as the fees were very low (depends on your bank). You will love Cuba, I'm sure. Have a fantastic time!!! :)

We stayed the overnight one where we got to stay exclusive for 24 hours, 2 swims and the place to ourselves which worked out to be circa £270 for 2 adults and 2 children with an overnight stay in the water bungalow I would highly recommend the overnight stay rather than just an afternoon as you will have to experience it with 15 other people if so. If you do the overnight then you get to experience all 13 dolphins to yourself which is worth every penny
