You get here by car in about an hour from Trinidad. The first part of the walk takes you downhill through the forest for about 45 minutes to a waterfall and a pool where you can swim. The descent is quite steep in places, so you need decent shoes and a bottle of water. Climbing back up obviously takes longer... More

Very nice hike and waterfall is amazing. You need to go early to beat the heat and the crowds. Hike down is about 45 minutes but the hike up can take quite a while. There are mules about half way up to bring you back if you are too tired.

We stood in a hostel where the owners recommended a horse excursion to this place. It was beautiful. They picked us up in a horse and carriage early in the morning at the time we requested and took us to where each of us were to get our own horse. We (11 of us) rode on horses through the country... We found this attraction in Trinidad the most over rated. We took horses and trekked to the waterfall which was good. However the waterfall was overcrowded and there were no toilets or changing rooms. The prices for water and drinks were expensive. Didn't stay more than 20min.

This walk was a fairly strenuous one which took an hour each way but was really worth it. The natural swimming pool at the furthest post was beautiful and the dip in it was very welcome. Pick up a map in the visitor centre to help you to locate the start of the walk, but once you are on the... More

This was expensive but worth it. We took a taxi there he waited for us and then drove us back. We actually went at the end of the day and there was no one there. Climbed and swam in the crystal clear waters. Be warned the climb back up is a killer and is longer than you think. Take your... More

Fabulous views as you trek though the forest. we swam in the pool and jumped off the waterfall into the pool. Very refreshing after the hike! The hike out of the forest is uphill so save some energy for it!

Really worth it. Pristine nature, a shady forest walk, clean water, great views. A taxi ride about 20 km into the mountains from Trinidad. Then ca 1 hour 15 minutes walk on a well marked path down to the bottom of the waterfall where you can swim in a natural pool. From there, you can also explore the upper cascades... More

Go early, take a taxi, and skip the vista on the road up (stop there on your way back). The hike is hilly, so just set your own pace. We arrived early and we're able to see the waterfall and swim in the lagoon before other tourists arrived. It's cold. But really cool. Looks like it gets pretty crowded later... More

We didn't plan ahead of time, so day of our casa owner found us a taxi driver with a jeep to take us up for $60cuc, not cheap, but we didn't have much choice. This price included just the ride, with stops along the way for photos. It's a very steep drive, so a lot of taxi drivers won't go.... More
