I didn't have much previous experience of Mountain Biking but I'm in good shape which is necessary for this track especially if you plan to do it in 2 days. It was challenging, there were a lot of pushing and down hills where somewhat scary....More

We walked a small section of the track, from Anakiwa to the look out and back. We enjoyed the walk, the views out to the Sound were lovely. Not too strenuous, it took us about 3 hours return.

First of all, make sure that unless you are a seasoned hiker, you heed the time suggestions provided by the government and not the travel agency. You'll notice they differ in about a 25% difference. We visited in May and the landscape and weather was...More

We took the Cougar Lines boat to Ship Cove and did the 5 hour walk to Furneaux Lodge. The first thing to point out is that the walk involves some very long and steep climbs, some of it on uneven tracks. It is described as...More

Amazing experience. We biked to Camp Bay campsite on first day...jumped off jetty for a wash, lovely flat camping spot and most importantly 5 min walk through our own private gloworm show to the Punga Cove resort so no cooking required. I would book the...More

We were lucky when we completed this walk as the weather was perfect, albeit that the track was very muddy in places from heavy rain the previous week. We're fairly fit over 60's and we found it manageable - though days 1 and 5 were...More

Hi, I have researched my accomodation options. Do you know of a company that would check that all my preferances have vacancies and then book them all together. My dates are rather felixable so can move the dates around if some places arent available. Michelle

Hello Michelle, thanks for your question. A number of our member operators are able to do this for you and you can find their details on the official Queen Charlotte Track website qctrack. The Picton & Blenheim i-Sites will... More
We are thinking of doing the QCT in May this year. We would like to do a guided tour but it seems that they stop in late April. Can anyone advise regarding this? Also, is the rainfall high in May which would make the track dangerous? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I am planning on walking the track and am interested to know about suspension bridges. A member of our party has a phobia! How many are there? Assuming there will be some, hoping that they are clustered into 1 day or maybe 2 days and my friend can skip that day my catching a ferry between accommodation. What advice or information do you have? Thanks!

Hello and thanks for your question. There is just the Endeavour Inlet suspension bridge, all the rest are solid wooden bridges. So the section is Endeavour Inlet to Camp Bay. I contacted the Department of Conservation and... More
