The weather didn't help the overall experience, but there were one or two features that were lacking. There was no mention of safety procedures, and the commentary at times indicated lack of local knowledge. However, the staff was friendly, and supplied us with jackets for the cold, and coffee and shortbread.

This is a fantastic way to see the harbour here and makes you understand better the beauty and history of this stunning area Fox 2 has a most interesting history and is an ideal way of viewing the wildlife and geology of the harbour. Because she cruises quite slowly, you get to see more of what is around you. When... More

Come rain or shine Roy always manages to make this trip unique and wonderful. My kids are now 6 & 8, but we started when they were 4 & 6. They've always been welcomed aboard, given buoyancy aids and warm jackets (when required - April!) then hot chocolate and a cookie on the route back. You will no doubt see... More

Absolutely brilliant trip yesterday. The skipper Roy was great. He gave a good commentary on the history of the area and the wildlife. We saw the Hectors dolphins playing in the bow wave of the boat - just magical. Roy played music as we sailed along and we actually went out on to the Pacific Ocean. Without doubt this was... More

We got to experience the diversity of NZ weather on this trip. It started out freezing and windy and ended warm and sunny. We still managed to see a lot of dolphins and seals and a few penguins from a distance. Captain Roy was a great host and very friendly. We enjoyed talking to him about his move to NZ... More

We sailed with Fox2 on a great sunny day and had the most wonderful time with Roy and his team. We get to see huge pods of dolphins, many little blue penguins, seabirds and even seals. It was an unforgettable experience!!!

The boat had a lovely feel to it. We travelled slowly, which was rather enjoyable and fitting to the environment. Especially on the way back purely on sail power, quietly. We had dolphins around the boat for about half of the journey. The skipper was very confident. He took us all the way out of the harbour and onto big... More
