Although it was a rainy and dreary morning, we were still looking forward to riding with Robin on Akaroa's Eastern Bays Scenic Mail Run. The red mail van pulled up across from the main wharf at 9:00 AM exactly as planned. My husband and I,...More

This was a delightful and unexpected opportunity to see the part of the Banks Peninsula few except locals get to experience. One of the highlights of our trip.

Really. You ride for about five hours with Robin as he does the rural delivery mail run. But he also makes stops where you can take fantastic pictures. The bays and valleys are amazing. Partway through, he stops and lays out a picnic with treats...More

I think this may already have been answered. I booked through the Akaroa Adventure Centre. They're easy to find online. They're very helpful. You'll enjoy the experience.

It was $75 per ticket, so we paid $150. But this is payment in New Zealand dollars, which are worth about 75% of US dollar. So the true cost wasn't as much. Enjoyable way to see scenic Akaroa.

Hi, Don't miss this tour. It takes about 5 hours and we loved it. Plenty of time to look around Akaroa when you get back. A trip to "The Giants House" in Akaroa is also well worth visiting.
