We offer an exclusive and intimate 2 hour Harbour Nature Cruise on our luxurious “Into the Blue” catamaran. We accommodate for a small number of guests, so you can enjoy a more personal cruise experience around the spectacular seascape including sea caves, high cliffs and volcanic rock formations. Akaroa Harbour is home of the smallest and rarest dolphins in the world, the Hector’s Dolphin. A cruise out on Akaroa Harbour is the perfect way to view these amazing creatures, along with fascinating bird life and other curious and entertaining sea mammals the likes of seals and penguins in their natural habitat – and why not do it in style at a very competitive price? Our local family history dates back to 1838 and as your hosts we will provide you with a personal insight into this region. A complimentary award winning wine, beer, organic juice, soft drinks and fresh home baking is included in the cruise price. Summer cruise times are at 10.15am, 12.45pm and 3.15pm, and our winter cruise time is 12.45pm.

A great day in the water with a friendly and knowledgeable captain who introduced us to Akrora. A well run tour, full of sights, background and a very special dog who knew his way around the deck, and skilled at locating dolphins. A definite must if you are planning a tour if this picturesque community.

Although I've been on trips like this, it was amazing to watch the small dolphins only to be found swimming around the boat. We were lucky as it was quite choppy and not a lot of people on board so we could move around a bit. Highly recommended!

We went on the cruise with our young children (7, 4 & 3) and we all loved it. We saw lots of dolphins, they came right up close to the boat, and heaps of beautiful scenery. The cruise is worth it just for the scenery! The crew were beyond fantastic, so helpful with the kids. We would definitely go with... More

My friend was visiting from New York on the 1st week of January. She only had 3 days in and around Christchurch so we decided to take her to Akaroa for a day trip and a nature cruise. Due to the bad traffic we got to the boat at the last minute. We almost had to leave my partner behind... More

We booked this tour online rather than at the local i"site" before arriving in Akaroa. The cruise was lovely. We enjoyed just being on the water and seeing dolphins, seals, birds, and all sorts of rock formations was just icing on the cake. My two children loved the experience and also found Buster the sea dog fascinating. The captain's tour... More

Three couples coming from different parts of the South Island came to Akaroa for the weekend and decided to take a Akaroa Dolphins nature cruise. It was fantastic with a good commentary from our captain, Mark and his very friendly assistant, George who offered a complimentary drink and homemade cookies. We saw lots of dolphins and and other wildlife. I... More

Don't miss this excursion if you're cruising by this port. Saw lots of dolphins, fur seals and penguins. And that's only the best part. You'll also enjoy the geological history lessons, Buster the dolphin finding dog and the homemade cookies.

This is a great cruise boat trib of the harbor in a mostly open boat, though you can go inside. Two hours to see dolphins (lots), birds, seals (outside the bay), and even a swimming penguin. Excellent commentary. You get a drink and a cookie and, if you're not prepared with a jacket for the breeze, they give you one.... More
