Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We go to High Tatras every year, this year it was 2 times and 2 times to Térynka. This is an epic place, We slept there, eat there, we smelled the walls full of smell kapustnica and petroleum in the 90th, we smell kapustnica and enjoy our meal in the 21th century. Hope, this place will exist untill the Tatras will exist.

The hike to Teryho Chata can be quite demanding and I would not recommend this to people only getting familiar with Mountain hiking, while most of the way is fairly easy, towards the end it gets challenging (if you access from Zamkovskeho Chata).
Once you are there you have really nice views of the Tatra Mountains as well as the Valleys with Villages and some bigger towns on the horizon. The hike itself goes through a valley with a small stream whose sound will be your companion for most of the time. There are also a lot of plants and flowers and in the warmer months it all feels very calm and serene , especially in the morning hours.
The Hut itself is fully equipped, offering draft beer, hot meals as well as snacks. You can even sleep over should you desire, although this is something I would recommend booking up front. If you are an experienced mountaineer you can then continue on in several directions.
There is also a number of nice mountain lakes in the immediate surrounding of the hut.

The scenery is quite nice but that’s all.
Food was average, the hut was very dirty, service was busy with their smartphones and caught and snorted in the kitchen. My wife didn’t touch their breakfast and couldn’t go to the toilet.
We got kicked out shortly after 8am, they didn’t let us get our gear and started cleaning while we still prepared us for our hike.
After more than 120 hikes in different county’s I have to say this was the worst experience I had in any mountain hut.
If you plan to go there for a drink it’s fine.

Yes, we were there for half a day. We did it as a tourist trip. The view is fantastic. We had a lunch there and then we returned down to Stary Smokovec.

Nice rest after hiking. You can buy a soup there or anything else. There is a beautiful view at the city, lake and shields.

One of the most classic cottage in High Tatras. Well placed close to 5 beautiful lakes. To be reached as final destination or you can continue your hike through Priecne sedlo to Zbojnicka chata. Be careful, Priecne sedlo is only for experienced hikers. We got tasty soup here. Staff was friendly and fast.

It's a mountaineer-house, so don't expect too fancy things. Dorm-rooms with triple bunkbeds. Getting there is the start, it's not easy, but doable for hikers as well. If you are a mountaineer then that was just the start. The staff is also nice, you can get okey meal, beers, coffee etc, obviously for a nice amount of money, the goods are only possible to be taken there by backbacks in the sherpas or by a helicopter twice in a year. So it's not cheap, but you can have your mourning coffee with one of the most beautiful and astonishing view to a valley in the Tatras.
