A long walk up the hill
Sep 2020 • Couples
Be prepared for about 30 min walk up the hill to cave entrance from parking lot.

Cave is suitable for everyone, there is full infrastructure including stairs with handrails and full lighting.

Guide is telling stories in Slovakian but on each stop there was played pre-recorded information in Polish which was very pleasant surprise.

Tour is definitely worth time and money.

Tip for visitors: do not rush forward and admire beauty of the cave.

Excellent Guide
Sep 2020 • Couples
Being the only 3 English amongst approx 50 Slovakians it felt a little unnerving however, after every speech our guide gave us a brief rundown of what he had described which was perfect. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to these stunning caves. The rock formations, small lakes, stalactites and stalagmites where everything we had expected.

Be prepared for the 20 minute trek up to the entrance which is very steep along with the stairs throughout the caves.

Highlight for us was the guide telling us to wait for everyone else to leave, he then took us to a small area where two tectonic plates had merged...it was awesome and made us feel very special. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name to give him a mention as he shot off once we excited the caves.

Hours of waiting time.
Aug 2020 • Couples
The cave itself is not a problem. The problem is the hours long queue in front of the cave, the only place, where the tickets can be bought. Tickets can only bought onsite, with cash only. No reservations are possible.
Hence people park a car, unknowing that there is a queue, pay 5 euro parking fee, hike 10 minutes up the hill, and stop at hundreds of people long queue(150meters). Since one tour takes about 1 hour, and is only possible for limited amount of people, the waiting time can be considerable.
So, instead of having the option of comfirtably booking a time slot online, or onsite, what the heck, you have to wait, and wait, in the slope of the mountain hoping for the best. Not nice.

Rudeness

The cave is beautiful but the tour leader only spoke and explained what was in front of us in Slovak and there was a recording in polish ...when we asked for an explanation in English the tour leader told us if we were more then 20 she would put on the English translation recording ...there were about 12 English speakers ...when we said we have paid entrench fee like the other people , she replied you do not translate to Slovak in your country and walked away.

Absurd!
Jul 2019 • Family
Coming to this area for the second time in past three Years, me and my family are really really enjoying this holiday. Came a bit late which we cannot be complaining about massive queue for almost two hours. Unfortunately wherever You go around Vysoké Tatry you have to head off earlier at the morning as “attractions” are really busy. We survived though after really nice about 25 mins walk up the hill. First weird thing is that You cannot pay with card considering this is so busy and I only noticed one sign half way through saying that card payments are not accepted. Oh well luckily we managed to figure this out before coming so we were ready. Still not quiet good for the tourism. What I found absolutely ridiculous is €10 to be able to use a camera especially if the entry is €8 😳 I’m obviously more than happy to pay the entry as someone worked hard for people to be able to go in and see the beauty but paying and being commanded for taking a pictures of “art of the nature” is absurd. And it gets worst while throughout the entire journey no one cares about screaming kids running around with torchlights 😡. While the staff trying to show us what the cave looks like without any lights (the absolute darkness i guess) torchlights are running around and no one really cares. The last thing I don’t understand is the “Music Hall” that plays Celine Dion and Pavol Habera while the main focus supposed to be the echo of water drops falling down into the water. And it also doesn’t make sense why are people being told to stay quiet at the start because we can scare the bats ?!?! 5.1 stereo definitely makes them really happy in their habitat. 5* for the nature 👍👌1* for the human’s touch. 👎

It's worth to be there once.

Interesting place, but be ready for +5 degrees inside, so take warm clothes. Some in our group didn't do that and were forced to go back down to take some jackets. I was in jacket and shorts, but for me it was ok, because there are approx.800 stairs you should climb and that warms up :) Entrance is every 20 minutes and you should follow your group, because further trail isn't lightened, they turn the light on gradually.
