About
It was built in 1890-1896 for the orthodox workers of Kreenholm Manufactory. The architect was Pavel Alis. Architectural solution comes from Byzantine tradition. Belltower is 28,8 m high. Church's walls and dome are made of local bricks. Rides, stairways and ornaments are made of Finnish granite. There is room for 2000 people. You can see three part iconostasis and 17th century’s Christ’s crucifix. Good to know: on year 1944 during the second world war, the bombing of the city left only the church untouched.

While we did not get to enter as there was a funeral going on at the time. This church is definitely worth a stop on your way through Narva.

This church is surrounded and oppressed by dwelling houses and factory building built in the Soviet time. It was difficult to find it. It was impossible to take photo without these ugly buildings in the background

If you like watching cathedrals this is definitely a must see in Narva. For me it was difficult to find the entrance, so hopefully in the future they will show this a little bit better. The inside was wonderful and I can highly recommend a visit.

Interesting visit. The cathedral itself is a pretty good image of Narva as a whole; functional. It works. the entrance is very nice but the cathedral-hall itself is undergoing heavy restauration - and not a moment too soon!
