Beautifully restored buildings (not to 'modern' condition, but in the condition they were when people lived in them 100's of years ago). The attendants tell you how they were used, for instance the large homes with a hearth in the middle had a fire going...More

We went there with 2 small kids. We really liked the place, I would say even better than we expected! Just we went there on early spring, so moody puddles was everywhere :-) defiantly we will come back in summer.

Tha place is great to have a walk, enjoy the fresh air, the nature, the latvian forest. Family come to hang out, couple to chill, or practice some sport : bicycle, roller blades, skate, running... Bring your lunch packed, and enjoy the birds songs!

Very interesting visit. It was very cold with frozen snow on ground and Lake Jugla frozen.Centuries old wooden houses with original working implements showing amazing innovation of how they lived and worked. Absolutely loved it. Wonderful walk through pine forest away from Riga.

An open air museum, that will take you about one day to walk around and enjoy the scenery/buildings and atmosphere of a historical/traditional Latvian country life. I suggest you go there in the first part of the day, about 10 a.m. Some houses are closed...More

Easiest way is to catch a bus which passes fairly close to the museum entrance .. 300-400 meters. The bus at this time of the year was only 1 per hour so the visit must be timed. We found it interesting even though light snow...More

No - but there is a cafe bar at the entrance who might help if you ask them. Alternatively you could leave them at Riga railway station as they assuredly do have left luggage.
