Biggest medieval church in the Baltics
Oct 2019
Biggest medieval church in the Baltics, its building took so long that you can basically find all architectural stiles in its composition. Get inside to see unique elements like the organ, the pulpit, the image of St Mauritius as a black man, etc.

Entry is not worthy
Aug 2020 • Couples
It is beautiful building from outside, but entry fee (5€) is totally not worth it, because there is almost nothing inside

Be sure to climb the tower
Jan 2020 • Solo
This church is a bit jumbled between other buildings but the tower can be see before the church.. so follow the tower to find it.
It is a really a lovely church and also has a view worth visiting. The best time is in the morning when there are people visiting.
The view from the tower of the city of Riga is absolutely beautiful

Impressive Cathedral
Mar 2020 • Solo
This is a large church and is great for a photo. Maybe go in the morning due to the position of the afternoon sun. Worth visiting.

Stop for a photo
Feb 2020
I did not go inside but I am glad that I did not miss the cathedral, there are multiple squares in Riga Old Town, for example, one closer to the river is the one with the famous House of the Black Heads while the square with the Cathedral is a bit more further inside and hidden since the Cathedral is not really that large. Ah, cool is the statue of an armadillo climbing the stairs on the side of the cathedral. No idea why but it is there.

Classic stone cathedral with wonderful organ
Jun 2019
If you love music, check if there's a concert happening in the Dom Cathedral while you are there. Get tickets and come listen. There are many other venues but if there an organ or choral concert happening in the Doma, that is a special treat.

Disappointing
Dec 2019
Unfortunately on the day we visited we were not allowed inside. No explanations were given and the man at the door was unhelpful and rude.

Awesome
Jun 2019 • Family
Near to Latvian Opera House with a huge open space on its side and many local restaurants facing the church, a good place to unwind while sipping their local beer and coffee with delicious pastries locally made. A magnificent building with large organ that boasts 6,768 pipes.
