About
Come and marvel at the unique silhouette of this beautiful art nouveau church (architect Eliel Saarinen). Tartu St Paul’s Church is one of the most outstanding 20th century sacral buildings in Estonia (1915, consecrated in 1917). You can admire the altar (1923) with the group of marble sculptures ‘Come to me, all ye who are weary and burdened’ by Amandus Adamson. The bells made in Ruhrland in 1923 ring in the tower of St Paul’s Church and a there is also a shop of Christian literature and symbols in the church.Interesting facts:- one of the wings of the church was used by the Estonian Museum of Sports for almost 40 years.

Impressive and special architecture. The interior is also awesome, with a beautiful organ and so much peace.

I went to church. My first time in an Estonian church for a service. Awesome inside, the beautiful church organ pipes, the altar, the dedication of the parishoners. I felt at home. I felt happy, and at peace. After the service a relative took us down into the basement where there was another area where they had services during the war and bombings. My gratefulness for having been there

St. Paul’s is a red-brick Art nouveau building. To anyone, who has been in Helsinki, first glimpse of St. Paul’s immediately brings reminiscence of Helsinki railway station. No wonder – both buildings are not only of the same period but were also designed by the same architector, Eliel Saarinen. Though badly damaged during WWII, the church was initially restored in the sixties and recent restoration has opened all its splendour. I am only sorry that due to coinciding working hours I was not able to see the interior of this impressive building. St. Paul’s is a bit away from the city centre but it takes only about 10 minutes on foot from the bus station or Kaubamaja.

A very spectacular church in quite a simple way. Not as ornate as other old churches, but the bright interiors and simple altar add to the grandeur. Many viewpoints from upper levels. If you are fortunate enough to hear a choir there you will be amazed at the acoustics.

Pauluse / St Paul's was built in the beginning of 20th Century and represents architectural trends of an era. It has been recently fully renovated and stylish place. Functioning church, so pay respect.

We had nice concert there with our choir. The interior and exterior are fantastic! You fell inside so warm as at home. I think the church should have such atmosphere. Very good acoustic, very good people who are serving there. You'll never be disappointed about go there.

Great Place if you want to hang around amidst the nature and the feel of divinity around.. Though a little far from the town centre, it offers a great change in environment though!!

Tartu St Paul's Church is just renovated. It was design by famous Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen and it was built 1917. It is now renovated and there are design new facilities by Merja Nieminen and Kai Järvinen. There are also concerts and they said that it is best concert hall in Tartu.
