Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As the same says, this narrow but quite long street goes along the walls of the Old Town.

Usually, there have been market stalls in the shadows of the city wall selling handicrafts. Estonian craftswomen have set up shops to sell their hand-knitted products but they had all disappeared.

We visited Tallinn Old Town on a Sunday. On this particular day the Old Town was very busy with 2 cruise ships in port and a local festival underway within the town walls.
While exploring the streets and laneways of the Old Town, we came across this street market. There were quite a number of stalls selling a variety of clothes, hats, gloves, scarves etc. Other stalls were selling handicrafts, gifts and souvenirs. The quality of goods on offer appeared to be quite good and most of the prices seemed reasonable.
With the large numbers of tourists and locals out and about on this day, many of the stalls appeared to be doing good business.
Worthy of a visit if you happen to be a keen shopper!

We visited here at night and it was pretty quiet. We returned the next morning and, magically, the arches of the old city wall were full of stalls selling knitwear of every description - highly appropriate as the weather was deteriorating in September.

The prices were reasonable and we spotted one of the storeholders actually knitting, indicating how handcrafted some of the goods might be.

Great market with sooooo much to see and buy. The vendors will negotiate a little, but not that much. Many vendors sell the same thing so there is a little flexibility. Beautiful linens, eg tea-towels. Lots of "long" socks which they apparently like for the winter. The socks come up to the top of their legs. We had a lot of fun here, and bought a fair amount of things!

Standing outside all year around in rain, shine and cold beside the old city wall has made the mainly Russian speaking vendors quite grumpy, they don't like to be photographed either. Even the hand made items are more or less mass produced after the same patterns, other older ladies are knitting them at home. Opposite is a shop selling linen dresses, tunics and jackets in free sizes.

In the street next to the wall, knitted items, hats, gloves and socks are available daily. The refurbished wall is high at the Viru Square.

This shopping area is made up of market stalls align against and underneath the iconic attraction ‘The Town Wall’. They sell everyday yarns, sweater, clothing etc. finest products and goods for sale. At the end of the day, the stalls come down and other stalls come there the next day. Definitely worth a visit if what you are interested in these products. Appears to be women are selling the goods.

Here is an opportunity to find knitted goods as souvenirs. It's hard to purchase woolen items when it is warm and sunny!

An interesting old street with very high walls with alcoves recessed into it. There are stalls selling knitted items, hats, gloves and socks. Also selling table linens.

This is a little shopping street with many vendors to choose from. Many of them sell very similar items, at similar prices as well.
