About
Nomme got its main shopping centre – the market more than 100 years ago, i.e. in 1908. This was preceeded by a longer process that was crowned by success only after active intervention of the maintenance society. The rights to run a market were granted by the governor of Estonia personally. In Nomme Market you can obtain all the required fresh foodstuffs all the year round. A large part of the foodstuffs sold at Nomme Market originates from the local producers of Estonia. In spring and summer we offer a wide range of flowers and plants that a lot of clients consider to be the best in Tallinn.See you at Nomme Market!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very cool marketplace but there is not much to buy if you’re a tourist since it’s mostly meat, cheese or other food preparation things. Might be worth a visit if you like marketplaces or want some nice fruit though :)

We caught the bus out and the trolley bus back from the market, with a very pleasant woodland walk in between. The Sunday market was busy although some of the market hall stalls were closed. The market hall is a modern but period recreation after the hall burnt down within a few years of its restoration! Excellent range of fresh food on offer plus a cafe with cakes - what’s not to like.

We took the train from Tallinn to get here, a very short, scenic, ride. Nomme is a charming area and the market is active and authentic. Many stalls yet not overwhelming at all, with all sorts of edibles to gifts. It was a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon!

I visited with friends from Italy and they find the specialized small fish, meat and cheese shops very interesting. Of cource they liked the old town of Tallinn but they find this market interesting as here you will find really 100% Estonian products like bread, smoked meat, honey and a lot of other pure products. There is also a separate part at the market where fresh fruits and vegetables are sold. Most local products but not all. Please ask before buying. The day we visited, one lady keeping a fish shop declaired that a brazilian chef came from one of the big tourist cruice ships and bought fresh local fish including baltic heering for at least 500 euros. All just to prepare in the restaurant of the ship, the old lady was so happy.

Nõmme turg or Nõmme market is a very nice old style nortern country market with an open air part active in summer with nearby fountain for the joy of your kids.
Beside this some housed shops and cafeteria and the covered market active all the year long. You can find all you need to organise at the best your meal. A pleasure for your eys too.
Strongly recommended.

Our friends who are living in Tallinn took us here. It's a little drive away from City Centre/Old Town, but definitely worth it. Clean, safe, cheap and lively market place, full of locals. Meat, fish, veggies, eggs, juices, different kind of milk prouducts and so on, you can find everything here. There is also nice little fountain and Café.
