Hobuveski
About
The oldest records of a mill on this site date back to 1379. It is a unique structure in which you will find wide-ranging displays of historical works of stone art and artistic stones that once belonged to the local houses and which found their way to the mill as the result of the houses being destroyed in wartime bombings. The mill today is also a venue for performances put on by Tallinn's Civic Theatre as well as a host of other events, including medieval evenings. The mill can seat up to 140 people.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an old building which used to be a mill.
However, there's nothing to see here nowadays and you can skip it.

Locals usually visit Hobuveski for Tallinn City Theatre plays. When walking in Old Town, you might not even happen upon the old mill. But it is just a few minute walk from St. Olaf's Church, or Fat Margaret. Next to the mill, a picturesque, narrow Laboratooriumi (Laboratory) street begins.

This limestone building is dating from 1379. It has a diameter of 16 meters.

It was originally used for milling flour. The mill mechanism was operated by eight horses that turned it inside the building.

Now the horse mill hosts exhibitions, concerts and theater performances.

We stopped there by accident and we sow quite a funny building and curious. It was closed but we found out that has history and served as a flour mill in times of need.

We came to this curious old, circular building and wondered about its history. Apparently, it was used as mill to grind corn during times of siege but nowadays it houses a museum of stonework and is only open by prior arrangement.
