Skip the tours and book an Opera performance. Wonderful experience at modest prices. Great sightlines, lots of staff, and a wonderful musical experience.

Very enjoyable experience at Don Pasquale. Opera House is more austere than those in Southern Europe but acoustics, seating etc were excellent

We went to the ballet to see Anna karenina and what a performance it was from start to finish. A majestic clean building with cloakrooms for your coats and a reasonably priced bar for snacks and light refreshments during the interval

After a long break because of the pandemic, we had again the opportunity to make a visit to this pleasant opera house. We booked our Tallinn trip just one week before and that determined what the performance would be.

La Fanciulla del West or Tütarlaps kuldsest läänest (in Estonian) is not our favorite opera but I still made a booking. The tickets are very reasonably priced. With Club One discount (10%), the best seats were just 25,20 each. Although being so late in the booking, we got very good seats.

The intermission service is very well handled. It is advisable to book it beforehand. So you don't have to queue.

Lovely petite opera house that often has tickets available. If you do go, the stalls are on a hardwood floor and you sit in chairs that are moveable. Rubber or soft soled shoes are a good idea to minimize sound. Their are several photos around the building showing it's history and even a small area that they left to show the original painting in comparison to how they have very carefully restored the decorative painting. They present many things here that are not opera, so look at the schedule for music and theater as well.

Together with some colleagues, my wife and me visited the opera to watch La bohème. It was a very good performance, with great singing, especially from the male main character. The building is very nice, though the stage is rather small. With clever light projections it was made to look bigger. The food afterwards in the Estonian restauran was very good. The general atmosphere is relaxed and the service is very friendly. We had a wonderful evening.

A short walk through the charming Tammsaare Park, replete with intriguing sculptures, a statue of Estonia’s best-known writer and namesake for the park, A. H. Tammsaare, and, when we visited, a fascinating exhibit of photos of individuals and families encompassing the multiple ethnic groups among Estonia’s population, took us to one of the biggest surprises of our visit – the Estonian National Opera House.

The National Opera was performing “La Boheme” on our second night in town, so we picked up tickets at the box office the day before. The tickets were a comparative bargain, the seats had great sight lines and acoustics, and the performance, in Italian with Estonian and English surtitles, was top notch. Be sure to walk down the hallways at intermission to see the pictures of the current artistic companies and some photos of prior performances, including one of “West Side Story” which illustrates how global the arts are. After the performance we greatly enjoyed our stroll back through the park at night to the delightfully illuminated Old Town.

Check out the theater’s schedule before your trip. You may find an evening as memorable as ours.

Watched the ballet Snowwhite and seven dwarfs with 7-year old and we both enjoyed it a lot. Stage design was very interesting and made the story live.

This Estonian National Opera was built in the 20th century. It is nice to me that Estonians own a theater for the realisation of operas.

We saw that the opera house was in Tallinn and found tickets for a performance of “West Side Story”. It was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The opera house itself is just lovely. Although it is rather small, it is well-designed and the seats were extremely comfortable. The production was excellent. On the night we attended, Maria, Tony and Anita were played by British singers. Others were from the Baltic countries. Dancing, singing, acting and orchestra were all top-notch.
