Olimpic place
Apr 2019 • Business
Pirita is the place where yacht races of Olimpic games in 1980 were held. Now it is alive place with numerous yachts and it makes it different of many other olimpic buildings all around the World, what are abbandonned and crushed after Olimpic and are evidence of stupid wasting resources just for prestige. Estonians use resources invested more than 40 years ago and benefit from that :)

Very pleasant
Jun 2018 • Couples
This is a functioning, indeed busy, marina. It is a very pleasant place to wander around. However facilities etc are clearly much more important for sailors

Sail away
Jun 2017 • Friends
Pirita has a lot of activites to do and of course it is a place where you can relax and chill with your friends or alone. You can sail and have a unforgettable trip. I have been there a many times and I would say that if I need to pick one place from Tallinn then I would pick Pirita.

Nice Waterfront Attraction
Sep 2016 • Couples
Our guide brought us here after the Kadriorg Palace and gardens to show us the marina. In 1980 the Soviet Union hosted the Olympics and for public relations reasons held the sailing competition here based from this area. There is a statue to commemorate the Olympics. An older Soviet hotel sits along the waterfront and you can take a water tour of this area. Our guide said locals from Tallinn use this as a recreation area and come out here to jog or go biking. Nice resort area.

Not much there if you're not a sailor
Mar 2016 • Couples
We only visited the marina as the Pirita Convent (which is a 5/10 minutes' walk away was closed). Apart from a large Soviet style hotel there didn'the appear to be anything to keep the general tourist occupied.

There were distant views across the beach towards the Old Town but not ones that are particularly noteworthy. We picked up the Tallin city tour bus which calls at the Marina (on its green route) but if we'd have had more time then it could have been nice to walk the coastal road (but is a bit busy) back to Old Town or Kadriorg park area.

If you do have an interest in sporting history, then there was a small commerative statue to the Olympics (as Pirita hosted the sailing events in the 1980 Moscow event) mid-way between the Marina and the Convent

On your from City Centre to Viimsi
Oct 2015 • Couples
Since 1980 Moscow Olympics, Pirita Area has been "the" place to be, if you like to sail or seaside life otherwise(they keps Olympic Sailing in here). Little outside from City Centre, but reachable by bike or bus. We have stopped here on our way to Viimsi, which is one of the most trendiest place in (larger) Tallinn area. In Pirita you can see some nice boats, joggers by the sea and some nice Cafés, but also Soviet era hotel, which is in need of good renovation. From there you can also rent a boat, to see whole Tallinn from the sea.

stroll, walk, run
it is for the one who loves to have longer walks, lazy strolls on the waterside or jogging.
