Very peaceful

A peaceful and beautiful place to sit and The White Monk terrace next to it is a good place for lunch if you are visiting Kiek in die Koch and as an alternative to their rather soulless cafe (we went out for lunch and back in again afterwards)

nice quiet place surrounded by city walls
May 2019
Taani kuninga aed is Estonian for Danish Kings garden. This garden is surrounded by city walls. You can walk down by taking old stairs. But be careful the stairs are uneven. It's close to the old town and if you want a moment of rest it's a nice place.

Unusual statues
Nov 2019
This is an interesting ancient garden where the Danes allegedly first came and conquered the locals. The enormous statues of monks are unusual and ideal for the ubiquitous selfie!

Pretty Little Garden
Jun 2019
This is beautiful & atmospheric, with the towers, wall, parapet & statues of monks. Despite visiting three times, I've yet to view the placard commemorating the birth of the Dannebrog. It is fairly small & quickly fills up when the cruise ships have disgorged their passengers. (visit early or late).

Nice stop
Jul 2019
It's a pretty garden in July and located outside the museum. There are three giant monks that keep watch over the area. Nice views as well.

Massive monks.
Sep 2019
This was the area of toompea hill where the Giant monks maintained their vigil! There was a museum with a large gun outside too. Lots of stalls selling fruit or nuts and flocks of pigeons. Well worth a visit.

Great views and must see
Sep 2019
We spent the day in Tallin - took a taxi from the pier and had a lovely day in old town. This site was worth the hike - just follow the crowd. Lovey view.

Spooky at night: a viewpoint by day
Sep 2019 • Couples
We visited both at night and in the daytime, so we kept very fit going up and down the steps to reach the garden with its view across the city and of the old walls, along with statues reminding us of the ghosts that are said to frequent this area.

There are several interesting design shops to visit on the way up the hill and one had an interesting exhibition of photographs of the Pealinna Aerodromes 1916 - 1944 in the 14th century cellar.
