About
Estonia boasts an unusual amount of space per capita. Over a half of our country is covered with pristine nature: trees swaying overhead, bogs fading into the mist, erratic boulders sticking out of the sea along the coastline. Such wealth of intact nature is rarely found elsewhere in Europe. The more life concentrates in cities, the more humans become estranged from the woods and seas. Yet humans, too, are part of nature, of the animal kingdom: we ourselves do not remember but the genes know. A return to nature is as if a journey to one's self. We invite you on this journey, telling stories of the wilderness of Estonia and helping you decode its secret talks.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This what is says on the packet. Estonian Natural History , no big cats or dinosaurs. Just a fascinating insight into flora and fauna of Estonia. Spread over three floors there is a different theme on each. Although a lot of signage is in Estonian staff are keep to help English speakers. Well worth a visit.

Entry was free on thursday. 3 floors, each floor focus on a group of animals in each room. The museum is small. Small selection of souvenirs at the Ground floor. If you love nature or have small kids this is for you, if not you can skip it.

Amazing museum, nice people, great time! Anu was a great host and told us many stories about bats, Estonian geology and all the ways we could keep Estonian wildlife alive and well during a time of littering, climate change and uncertain times! Highly recommend!

The museum is cosy, clean and up-date small museum for natural history. In our visit (Feb 2020) there was nice exhibition of bats.
Our kids liked much all the small and big animals. The museum should have larger house and exhibition for Africa, the narure of rainforest etc.
Anyhow, very nice place to visit, take this to your list for kids in Tallinn.

The place is kind of small (3 floors, 6-7 rooms in all) and texts are in Estonian, Russian and English, but that did not really matter. My 9-year old son got a kick out of this place and the visit was not too long to bore him. The exotic fish tanks are little silly in the estonian context, but otherwise the place is nice. It is recently renovated and it seems lot of effort has been put into the exhibition.

Interesting place to visit for a while, located in the old city centre. It's a free attraction included when you buy the Tallin card. Always interesting to visit a museum of natural history, anywhere. This one is focused on the history of Estonia. Very well kept, on 3 floors, interesting the 3d tour as well. Cool

This is a nice museum for learning a little more about nature in Estonia but you have to have the application in your local language

This museum is pretty small, but it was great learning some fun facts about the country and that area. If you don't speak the language, you can go to the website and it'll give you an audio tour in your language.
