Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Town Hall is considered to be the most beautiful monument of late Gothic architecture preserved in its original state in the entire Baltic region. I think it’s true, I like it very much with Old Thomas (Vana Toomas) at the top of the tower (it is a wind indicator). He was a medieval brave hero, protector of the city. The building is located in the heart of the city. It’s a must-see attraction!

An absolutely fabulous museum in the Town hall! Loved every bit of it. There is a lot of information in the information sheets you can find in nearly every room, on the big posters on the walls or in the computers. Lots of stairs to climb up and down too! But if you manage to get down to buy the ticket, then you'll make it around. I learnt a great deal about tapestry in the Middle Ages and its connection to Tallinn. Didn't go up those spiral stairs though, so no idea what's hidden in the attic.

Only went up the tower but the views over the square and the buildings around the square was well worth the breathless climb.

Their website says, that visiting is possible only for those, who have booked visits via email. However they don't answer emails.

The Tallinn old city hall has some nice works of art inside, information about the city and building history. Most of the spaces in the building are empty, and there isn't so much to read about - after taking pictures you'll finish the tour in less than an hour.

Avoid the overpriced and mediocre food but this is a good place for a drink in the sun watching the World go by.

Tallinn City Hall, one of the oldest in Northern Europe (c. 1370s), is part of the Town Hall histyorical complex. It has weather vane Old Thomas (Vana Toomas), Tallinn's symbol, on the top of the City Hall tower.

They have done a great job at renovating and preserving this Town Hall from 1404, the only surviving Gothic Town Hall in Northern Europe! There is a lot of medieval art, furniture, items in use in those days, and recreations of the various rooms used here hundreds of years ago. I went up to the attic too, where there were display boards and a few items on display. Apparently there is a good view from the roof as per guidebook reports, but maybe it was closed when I visited as I did not see any way up there. I had a 24-hour Tallinn Card which covered most sights. I was in Tallinn on a 9-hour stopover on a Norwegian Getaway 9-day Baltic Cruise during mid-August 2019. Rick Steves "Scandinavian & Northern European Cruise Ports" Guidebook was a great help and this sight was part of the self-guided "Tallinn Walk" in the book.

Gorgeous and imposing building, the square outside is also huge and provides a break from the tiny streets across old town.

The hidden gem here is the taverna underneath!
