Gorgeous Russian Orthodox Church
Oct 2021
This is a gorgeous Russian Orthodox church. The inside of the church is definitely work a visit but the outside is the best.

Marvelous
Sep 2019
A wonderful architectural achievement, the cathedral is amazing from the outside and the inside. Sadly, taking pictures is not allowed, but since some people did, you can browse the pics here in Tripadvisor. The decoration of the walls, the altar - everything feels rich, regal.

A 'must see' when in Tallinn
Sep 2019
You cannot come to Tallinn and not see or visit this beautiful fairly modern building. It is a sight to behold both outside and in. We had a pleasant walk up the hill to it and we arrived at a time when fortunately there were not too many tourists - or the dreaded 'groups' with the leader shouting their head off !! A must see.

20th Century Russian Orthodox Cathedral
Sep 2019
Very beautiful church situated almost on the top of the hill. Very busy with tourist, but there were a few locals too. Very impressive from the outside and more modern then most buildings around it. You can see it's roof from all over the hill and beyond Old Town. Worth a look inside, if you don't have to battle to many tourist groups!

Outstanding cathedral
Aug 2020 • Couples
Really outstanding cathedral. Looking so luxorious and unusual at the same time. In the heart of the old town.

Russian style Cathedral
Jul 2019
Traditional Russian cathedral built only in 1900. Named after a famous thirteenth century Russian leader. Has been restored within the last 30 years by the locals. Plenty examples of iconography and gold within the cathedral.

The day we were there, there was a funeral taking place.

Beautiful Cathedral
Jun 2019
The Cathedral is a beautiful Russian Orthodox church build at the end of XIX century, in sync with rather typical design tradition of that time. Perhaps the most unusual thing is that cathedral is quite nicely fit the Old Tallinn historical spirit.

Perfect for Impressive Selfies on the Outside!
Aug 2019
Great for selfies from the outside, a beautiful Russian design. Inside also has some intricate artwork with gold plating. It was sad to contemplate how this church was built just across from the Estonian Parliament, as an in-your-face oppression of the native people. I understand how the population in Tallinn would feel insulted! I was in Tallinn on a 9-hour stopover on a Norwegian Getaway 9-day Baltic Cruise during mid-August 2019. I had a 'Tallinn Card', which covered most sights. Rick Steves "Scandinavian & Northern European Cruise Ports" Guidebook was a great help and this sight was part of the self-guided "Tallinn Walk" in the book.

Even better inside than outside
Mar 2020
Russian Orthodox church that, like the rest of Estonia, is amazingly well kept, clean and shining with gold all over the inside of the church. It is on the edge of the old city but do make sure you put it on your list when visting Tallin.
