About
This jumble of 14th- and 15th-century architecture with its medieval walls, needling spires and twisting, cobblestone streets is also the site of many of the city's important historic attractions and museums including the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads, St. Catherine's Guild and the 15th-century Guildhall that now houses the History Museum.

A little touristy - we have been lucky for us, not for Tallinn business, we had one week without cruise ships, so city appeared wonderful and peaceful !

I recommen it as a one time place to visit. Old town, markets with useless stuff .Local sea is worth seeing. Book hostels in advance if you don't want to look for another one late in the evening. Best time to visit is end of summer ,less crowded streets.

I consider Tallinn a hidden gem of Europe. It encompasses everything a typical wanderlust needs in order to be content - historical sites, some modernity, an interesting culture, uniqueness, lively cafes and souvenir stores to take a tiny part of Tallinn home. There's something so magical about the Old Town that leaves you breathless, in awe. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Tallinn old town, superbly preserved and under the snow of course. Beautiful and worth several hours of quiet stroll with stops in the many bars or restaurants.

Didn't expect it to be this awesome!!! The buildings are like they were back in medieval times. They have so many places that transport you back in time.

Very safe place for all people to walk around. Civilized, clean and extremely beautiful! Plenty of small streets to get lost in, cozy cafes on each corner. The Christmas market is a must, the atmosphere there is unique.

I came for the Christmas market, I was a little disappointed, the setting is superb, there was plenty of snow, but there were more stalls selling gloggi with a few stalls selling food and clothing and decorations. The atmosphere was great.
Plenty of restaurants and bars around the main square and in the streets leading of it, from Indian to Italian with the odd Irish bar serving food too. Plenty of choice.
Loads of museums and churches to wander around.
Beautiful old town with a lot of character, coming back in the summer.

Christmas market is a must in Tallinn. It was started on 26. NOV. A lot of people, mostly local. Glögi with or without alkohol is a must. Nice athmosphere! Children are also welcome! So beautifull Christmas tree!

My husband and I have done many city breaks and agreed that Tallinn was up there with the best. It’s a wonderful city that has everything a tourist could want from its history that’s so evident in the old town which makes you feel you are in medieval times. The streets are cobbled and the buildings distinctly medieval. It’s possible to walk on the walls surrounding this fortressed old town and there are viewing platforms giving wonderful views of the town, the port and cruise port and out to sea. Locals have contributed to a free map and sightseeing guide that offers information that’s invaluable and includes cafes bars and restaurant recommendations as well as identifying off the beaten track gems that a tourist would easily miss. Some places of interest were closed due to our visit being out of season however there was ample to fill our three days and I think the narrow streets will be extremely crowded during the summer months.
Covid restrictions were in place absolutely everywhere. Both locals and tourists were required to show proof of double vaccination plus ID confirming the Covid passport belongs to you. Face masks are mandatory everywhere indoors including shopping centres and police do spot checks offering masks to the odd person not wearing one and if the offer is declined the person is escorted out or off a bus. We felt safe and secure throughout our visit and found locals to be friendly.
