This beautiful Japanese Garden is part of the bigger Kadriorg Park. It was designed by the renowned landscape architect Masao Sone and was opened on 31 July 2011.

The northeast pond of Kadriorg and its buried limestone slope, boulders, large trees, pond, and waterfall are the key elements of this garden.

The plants were chosen specifically to suit Estonia's colder climate. In spring, cherry trees and rhododendrons blossom. The garden is the largest rhododendron garden in Estonia.

May 6th: The trees are still leafless, but the grass is green and the laburnums blossom (pretty yellow flowers).
There are lakes, mossy rocks, stone paths and little Japanese statues. Like in a fairy tale. I'm sure it'll be more beautiful when the trees turn green. I truly recommend it.

Beautiful park with small details, beautiful ponds and some koi (?) fish swimming there. Loved the little bridges as well.

A small peaceful corner of a bigger park, essentially it is a lake surrounded with different trees and stones. It is very beautiful harmonious place, pleasing to the eye and excellent for quiet walk in the morning. There is fish living in the lake, so children could feed it.

I followed signs to the Japanese garden when I was in Kadriorg park. When I arrived, I found that I could just walk in. There is a lake in the middle of the garden that is very scenic. There garden is small, but it is a nice area to walk around.

The small Japanese Garden in Kadriorg Park is definitely worth a visit. On Friday evening in May it was not crowded. It’s probably more beautiful later in summer when all the flowers are florishing. Great place for a romantic walk.

The Jaapani Aed (Japanese Garden) is located in a remote corner of Kadriorg Park. It can be reached by walking the straight path from Kadriorg Castle towards Russalka monument and then taking a small path to the right. I visited twice in different seaons and I was virtually the only person around. The atmosphere is quite calm and relaxed, contemplative I might say. A nice place to cherish some quieter moments.
