Cool area with plenty of quirky places for food and drink. Totally different vibe to Old Town which is practically across the street.

Hip and artsy place with foodstalls and train carriages and containers. Very cool place. Check out the barber shop!

We stumbled upon the Depoo after visiting Balti Jaam market. Restaurants and food truck style restaurants are housed in old rail cars. It has a variety of types of food.
We were there on a weekday late morning and it still felt super cool! I would have loved to experience it on a weekend night.

Tallinn is a place that just has so much going for it right now. If you, like me, like to walk, you can see so much in this beautiful city in just a few days. DEPOO is almost like an alternative living community. Beautiful street art, many amazing food options, some great places to have a cold beer. I ate a filled crepe in a small cafe which I forget the name of sadly, a burrito Chile style from the Bueno Gourmet food van, and drank plenty of craft beer at Pudel. I can’t wait to get back here, it’s just beautiful.

We ended up here on 2 days when we were in Tallinn as it is just so cool to walk around. The market was small but really good but the street food and bars and the general feel of the area were even better. I recommend this to anyone who is staying in Tallinn and wants something a bit different from the usual old town.

After a day in old town, I went to the Russian section of town. On the way there, I met a guy who suggested me to check out this food market by the train station. I like food markets. It is a way to understand a culture. The market was not too big, but I likes the meat section. I tried their Russian sausages. I liked it. It was very easy to find.

Tallinn Old Town used to be the prime sight in Tallinn and still is. However during the last decade Tallinn has been expanding and aresas where you didn't dare to move around in are being renovated and turned into interesting places. Telliskivi Loomelinnak is one of those places. Just around the corner is another interesting place, the DEPOO. There's some containers and a train car that have been turned into fast fod restaurants. Pass these and you come to a market place with flea markets and antique shops.

After staying in the old town for a few days we were looking for something different. This market definitely ticks the box. We walked amongst the clothing, knick-knacks and food stalls, browsing. However, we walked out with a bag load of booty, the prices here were excellent, (great for gifts for relatives, back home) very good value. The coffee and sweets are cheap (frequented by the locals), there is hardly any english, however, smiling and using hand gestures goes along way.

Depoo is a unique place with cafes built in sea containers and old train wagons. Best coffee in Tallinn is served in Renard Coffe Shop and overall there is a very large selection of different cuisine from
vietnamese to fish and chips. Highly recommend this place over Old Town when thinking of eating out. Price range is cheap and the market place next to foodstreet holds rare finds from soviet time amongside farmers produce.
