We rented a canoe in off season and it couldn't have been a better experience. The men we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We were driven up stream and we canoed back down to the centre and our car. Perfect! The equipment was all in good condition and the trip was beautiful. Would definitely recommend!

Great Experience
My wife and I rented a canoe from Soomaa.com which worked out great. The woman at the Soomaa Tourist Information Center put us in contact with them. We rented it for about an hour and the price was very reasonable. The guy who helped us was very helpful and interesting. It provided a great break from hiking and was very enjoyable.

Canoe day trip

The self-guided canoe trip was great and we would recommend to everyone! It is a great way to experience Soomaa national park, beautiful scenery along the river and there are great walking trails (and a nice picnic spot) along the route where there are ponds for a quick swim to keep refreshed. Aivar was also super helpful and collected us from Pärnu town at 9am (call the day before) and dropped us back that evening - there was also time for a swim at the end of the route. Definitely the most convenient way to see Soomaa without a car that we found.

Nice, easy canoe trip with walk

We most liked the quietness of the park, relaxed attitude of the hosts and the fact that lots of information about Estonia and this parc was given in the short ride to the starting point. We never before went walking in the middle of a canoe trip, but here you can leave your boat and stuff for an hour and walk in the forest meadow and bog. As the river was not flooded this time of year the bog was the most special part of nature. So that is the only drawback: It is about an hour driving from Pärnu and not really spectacular. But all in all a very nice experience.

Perfect first time canoeing experience
We spent a lovely day canoeing and walking in the park. It was our first time canoeing and had perfect conditions for it: a calm river, beautiful views, a hiking break…
Also very smooth communication by WhatsApp for booking and a nice chat which the guide at arrival!

A wonderful day in nature

The weather was perfect! At first we walked a little bit in a forest with tons of mosquitoes. The bog was absolutely amazing and fun and a little bit exciting too. Shall we get stuck or no? Shall we sink? We had a refreshing dip in a small pond. We had a really nice and delicious lunch with traditional delicacies. Then we went canoeing. Beautiful! We even saw a king fisher. Our guide Edu was super! We had really nice discussions and we learned a lot of Estonian nature and language. I highly recommend this trip!

Peace and quiet in amazing scenery

We only decided we wanted to go on a canoe trip a day in advance, but this was no problem. Communication with the rental company was quick and easy. We received clear instructions to the starting location, where we could park our car.

The driver was kind and told us some interesting facts about the park and its wildlife. He also gave us good instructions about canoeing and the route.

The trip itself was amazing - we didn't encounter a single other person or boat on the water. I'd definitely recommend stopping for the short walk on the peat bog trail.

Overall, it was a great experience with lots of amazing scenery. Highly recommended!

Great day out at the bog
Fantastic experience. We loved walking the bog, had a great lunch and a row back to the starting point. Fun and educational. We can recommend this day trip

The park through the river is beautiful, very calm and absolutely safe even to do alone !

Cozy canoë in the Soomaa national park

We had a very nice experience with the canoe trip. The scenery is picturesque, the weather was great, we found the oak tree and enjoyed the moment.
The personnel is very kind and gave us very useful instructions on the boat rowing. We had a great time, highly recommanded.
