About
The picturesque coastline and five islands of Lake Puhajarv make it the biggest and most beautiful lake in the Otepaa region. There is a beach with a beach house, ball game courts, rest areas, cafés and a pier by the northern tip of Lake Puhajarv. There are many springs in the lake and the Spring of Love is the most famous of these. The Vaike Emajogi River starts from the southern tip of the lake. A 12 km hiking track runs about the lake.Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso blessed the lake in 1991 and this event is commemorated with a wooden sculpture on the lake’s shore by the park.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice and quiet sandy beach, great for kids, food and drinks outlets and swimming is guarded by G4S.

There is so much more than just a walk around the lake. This place fills you with energy and power if you just let it happen..

One of the most beautiful lakes in South Estonia, surrounded with beautiful legends and myths. My favourite one is that the lake was created by tears of the mothers of killed soldiers, and that explains the name - Saint Lake.
Nevertheless, the lake is much larger, than it seems. Has lots of spots for swimming around it, very desecrate, and a nice public beach. Water is exceptionally clean and is relatively cold at all time due to numerous feeder inside it. Some of them are outside the lake and it is possible to drink from them.

Very nice lake. Perfect for swimming. Families with little children love this place because here is spacious and the water does not go sharply deep. You can also go for a walk around the lake or rent a boat.

Lake Pühajärv offers you many different options to spend your day. You can enjoy swimming and hiking. You can make shorter walks in the park by the lake or shorter walks back and forth or you can walk around the lake an see its beautiful shore and wonderful views to the lake and islands.

Being by the lake is a pure pleasure. Enjoy walks or jogging, enjoy the beautiful nature (especially, sunsets). This is said to be the most often painted object in Estonia.

We has a nice sunday skiing on the lake (10km). It is good to ski also around the lake, although the track is not the best. After ski trip we has a sauna in Pühajärve spa.
