About
The Haapsalu Shawl, an extremely fine knitted shawl that can be pulled through a woman’ ring, has been the symbol of Haapsalu since the last century. At that time, as well as today, they are highly regarded by women. The knitters of traditional shawls knitter are professionals; the skill is passed down from generation to generation. In the Shawl Museum, which is located in a jewellery workshop, you can see a permanent exhibition on the past and present of the Haapsalu shawl, examine the extremely fine patterns, and buy one of the masterpieces for yourself.Interesting fact: Haapsalu shawls have been presented as gifts to the women of the Swedish Royal Family as well as the Estonian President’s honoured guests.

We went to Haapsalu specifically for the lace museum. According to facebook, their website and the information center in Haapsalu, the museum was supposed to be open. Upon arrival, there were signs in the window indicating that the museum was closed for the week. It did look very interesting. Recommend calling ahead before going there.

Surprise after surprise we were getting at in the magic Haapsalu Town and one of them was this amazing Haapsalu Shawl Museum.
It is located in Ehte street, just above the region of Haapsalu Episcopial Castle. Actually, this museum is settled in a jewellery workshop, with a permanent exhibition on the past and present of the Haapsalu shawl, that shows to the visitors the very fine patterns of shawls and generally, the art of knitting handicraft.
Also is possible to buy one of the masterpieces for yourself.
We were very glad to see such nice exhibition.

What a beautiful and delicate handcraft, made by local handicraftsmen. It is as good to look at and to buy. Prices are quite high they are worth it.

I had been looking for this location already during my earlier visits and this time I asked the tourist information where this museum is located since the TA places this museum to Ehte tn 4. I got the right address, Posti 25 and the nice lady in tourist information showed me an example of this traditional handicraft and it was so delicate and light, made of wool but so lightweight you cannot understand.
With the right address I found this shop and exhibition room, entrance fee 1.50 EUR to exhibition, shop with free entrance. Smaller items starting from 20 EUR and shawls starting from 44 EUR (year 2016). And the smaller shawls were so lovely, I wish I could have bought one.

The ladies who are doing the knitting will most probably be there waiting for the visitors and ready to show how these wonderful pieces of art are done. They are representing traditional craft that runs in the families for centuries. The works are really sophisticated and amazing.

You will probably meet some of the ladies who made the items for sale in the shop or founded the society which passes down the tradition in the local school. They take great pride, rightfully so, in their work. Lace patterns are also pressed into local pottery to make jewellery, plates and various items. It is only 1.50 Euro to visit, don't miss it!

Hello.
I have been out travelling for some days and saw the question just now :-)
I'm not sure, but since there were lots of shops in Tallin selling handicraft I would guess so.
