Nice place to visit but it's nothing special besides the view. It is almost impossible to go up by foot with child's trolley. In such case I would advise to use lift on the opposite site of a hill. Exibition inside of Gediminas Tower is not very interesting and feels like it's not worth its price.

This represents another amazing piece of Lithuanian history. It is what's left of the Upper Castle. The original brick castle dates back to the 15th century while the original wooden castle dates back even earlier. The ramped walk up to the tower is relatively easy for anyone in pretty good condition. There are, however some uneven spots and caution should be... More

This was one top of our to-do list and I'm glad we went up! Located a 15 minute was from the Old Town where our hotel was this attraction was easy enough to get to. It had been snowing heavily on the day we decided to go up which meant it was super slippy walking up and down the steep... More

Special landmark for Lithuanian history... Visited with my wife. So nice view, historical museum inside. Very famous all over the country. Is a must for everyone coming to Lithuania.

I enjoyed the walk up and the views were panoramic, but that's it. Wear good shoes for the walk as some of the stones are quite slippery.

I took shelter from the rain and got to know a bit more Lithuanian history. There is a great 360 view over the city. The way up and the pavement is cobble stones really old, so wear your good shoes doing the hike. Distance is not great, just 5 minutes up the hill. Or you can take the cable train.

Historic tower with amazing views all over Vilnius. You can walk up or for those less energetic take the Funicular. Good exhibition inside too.

Clear views in every direction over Vilnius. Key tip: if it's not a warm day, make sure you wrap up - it can be windy on top which makes an icy wind even icier!

For a few Euro, you can enter the tower fort and climb to the very top for an extra elevated view. Throughout your climb, you will find some historical artifacts and photographs aligning with the castle’s history. If you are pressed for time, it is OK to miss this part! The view from the hilltop is just as rewarding.

The walk up is perfect for the enthusiastic, whilst the lazy can get a ride up with the cable car. The little museum at the top wasn't much to see, but the view of all of Vilnius worth your while. There's enough ruins for children to play hide and seek, couples to find privacy for a kiss or two and... More
