This modern and very large church is worth the diversion - the lazy way being by the historic funicular. The views from the terrace are magnificent. Like many Kaunas churches it has only come back to the Christians since the departure of the Russians.

The vew from the top of the terrace is nice and you can see the whole city. Unfortunatelly, it´s not covered so it´s not the best place to visit when it´s raining.

The church itself is simple and beautiful. Just a tranquil environment. When you enter the church (follow the arrows to the entrance) there will be an attendant in the gift shop/ where you can buy tickets to go to the terrace; 90 cents via stairs (160 steps) and 2.20 euros for the lift to the terrace. This is a must!... More

You can see the church from a lot of places in Kaunas, it's very nice, yet simple at the same time. You can reach the rooftop and enjoy the beautiful panorama of Kaunas.

A pretty simple white church, but very interesting to see it among all the other old churches. It's recommended to visit the rooftop (you have to buy a ticket), it's a good photo opportunity. It's a short walk from the city centre, and you can combine it with a visit to the Devil Museum for example.

This basilica was conceived as a monument to thank God after Lithuania gained its first independence. Apparently the building was used as a factory by the Soviet government, but now it is fully consecrated and open to the public. From the bottom of the hill, you can take the historic funicular to the top, for 50 cents. At the church,... More

This church has been renovated whel Lituania has gained back its independaence. We come here with family time from time. You can take an elevator up to the rooftop of the church where one can enjoy views of Kaunas from the bird flight height.

Worth a look if you're in the area, the inside is completely at odds with the other religious buildings in the area with its sparse decoration. The option to go up to the terrace for a view of the city is available, however we found the view from the other funicular (Aleksotas) much more impressive.

A very modern church with beautiful décor. We visited after Easter and it was full of flowers. The road opposite is in a straight line with the main door of the church. It makes an impression looking out as if the cars are driving into the church
