There really is not a great deal to see or do in Kaunas in November and the Tourist Centre was very quiet but the staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

We literally came there to ask probably the most basic questions about the city and we got nothing concrete for the answer. Our research on Internet about places to visit was more successful than those fifteen minutes spent in the tourist information centre.

Just get your map from here if you did not do that already on your way to the center (there are information at the main bus station).

We asked about getting a train/bus to the capital, and weren't able to give us much help at all. Bought several bits and when we got back to the hotel, found they were cheaper. + in the old town, no disabled access!

It is always good to have bussiness with them. You can get a guide for Kaunas county and even more. Location is the heart of the city.
