Like many European cities which endured the double horror of World War II and 50 years of Soviet rule, Kaunas today is a pretty dank and four place - not some place you would ever want to visit. The old town is its saving grace....More

If you have missed it by some reason and moved on ,turn around immediately! You just have to see and feel the heart of Kaunas. Walk through old buildings, take a break in one of the restaurants and finally visit our castle. Just do it.

The old town is a must to visit and see the town hall and other historic buildings, sit out in the sunshine and enjoy food and drink. During our visit a choral festival was taking place and it was very nice and great music

Yep that’s right,I thought Kaunas old town was better than Vilnius old town. I just felt the atmosphere was better, bars and restaurants more plentiful and busy and the history more accessible. We did however have a local guide us around so this helped us...More

It’s nice enough to take a walk and see the streets. Lots of restaurants and cafés to relax. Vilnius old town is bigger and there’s more to see.

All old towns should be visited. There is a visitor's center here and also around the corner a shop that sells homemade items in line and wool. Prices are reasonable. Lithuanian foods are served at the local restaurants.

It was Sunday when we visited this place, people went to churches. The square was filled with families and children playing. Some buldings of the square had unique modern statues.
