Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a very small place, gets crowded easily, but it's a nice stop on the way to the waterfalls. They offer mulled wine and a special tea made from Tatra herbs.

Me and my friends made a little tourist track through High Tatras from Grand Hotel Stary Smokovec and somewhere in the middle of the track ( depends on track ) you can find cool small Cottage with beverages and place for rest...

Picturesque stone built chalet near the waterfalls. Had a very restorative herbal tea after our walk up. Display of cow bells and memorabilia inside – you have to let your eyes adjust to the dark interior to appreciate it! No loo – not that we were expecting running water and plumbing up the there but there was not even a home-made one in a separate little hut!

One of the few still remaining authentic chalets in the High Tatra, friendly service and an ideal place to stop by when hiking.

We visited Rainerova Chata several times, both in the summer and winter and it is always a nice place to stop by on our hiking tours.

It is good for a break as you can get some drinks and some small meals/snacks here. On our last visit we were lucky enough to see the "Tri Krale" celebrations (January 6th) and the owner even set up a Nativity scene made out of snow.

It is also a good place to start off either towards Zamkovskeho Chata or then the other direction towards the waterfalls of the Studeny potok.

The only downfall is that it's inside is quite small so in the case of unpleasant weather there isn't that much space to hide in.

Built in 1863 at 1301 meters above see level. This used to be a typical mountain refuge, with very limited space, where all tourists were sleeping on a floor mats to stay for the night. Nowadays it's only a refreshments shop on busy marked trails junction, next door to one of the biggest waterfalls in Tatra - Vodopady Studeneho potoka. Also serves as a information point, with maps and guide books on sale.
