Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Big, beautiful and combines remembrance with life and joy in a tasteful way. The building is huge and fully restored, the interior mixes the original style with modern in a very harmonious way, and the restroom is excellent. There is an info machine offering a good read + audio material, and a small exhibition. The space is used for cultural events. You may need to organize a possibility to get in out of the touristic season. The colourful windows shed playful lights in sunshine, it"s quite a view.

This synagogue is well worth a visit if only to appreciate the Jewish community that lived locally until they went on a one way train trip north. When I first saw this building it was very sad and neglected. I was very heartened that it was decided to restore it. Some external work is not back to original but has been saved at least. I am lucky to live in the socialist apartment buildings opposite so can appreciate every day on the way to the town or pub. Not far away there is a Jewish cementary but it is locked so not possible to visit except by arrangement. An Englishman living locally.

Lucenec has no Jewish community to speak of. It's gran d synagogue stood for 70 years after the Holocaust, a decaying hulk in the center of town, a reminder of the Jewish community that was exterminated by the Nazis with the support of the Slovaks, The restoration has given new life to the structure, but has not restored the details of color, stained glass or purpose of this house of worship. Nevertheless it is worth a visit to this somnolent town if only because the architecture is sublime, and the local authorities have had the decency to make it very clear that this was a synagogue by way of a small Jewish museum in it rear balcony.

Lucenec synagogue is a huge, noble, and faboulous building which sticks out like a sore thumb as it is located in the middle of concrete jungle made of socialist blocks . It is really breathtaking and was reconstructed with a sense for detail. Make sure to pay a visit to this place when visiting Lucenec and its surroundings.

Recently visited this synagogue. It's still not completely renovated on the inside. However, it has a special character and vibe. Some interesting artifacts and stories to read about. It is currently used for special events and as a gallery.

What an interesting surprise, especially if you've seen the building before the restoration! The restoration team has done an excellent job in preserving this building for future generations. Worth a visit.

The synagogue was after many dozens of years of neglect nicely reconstructed and is now open for guided tours. You have to look at the time table when the synagogue is open. The guided tour is given by a local lady who gives a interesting tour. We learned about the history and enjoyed the interior.
Not sure if they have tours in a foreign language, but worth taking a look.

It was refreshing to see that this building has now been totally renovated to a high standard, tours around the build can be had on Sundays, I believe from 1400 to 1600, well worth a visit just to see the craftsmanship of Slovakian tradesmen
