Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I popped in here at the start of my first visit to Kosice and the staff were very helpful and friendly advising me on what there was to see and how to get there. The place itself is good for souvenirs as well. They all spoke good English and on my return to Kosice visited again for some more information. A must-stop if visiting Kosice for the first time.

This is a good first stop if you do know the city. They can give tips about what to see. There are also books and souvenirs that you can buy.

Hi, Andreja. Thanks for your review. You can find many free prospects here, actually, just a few of them are being sold. So please, visit the Regional Info Point again and check it out :)

I should precede my review with a note that I work in the Tourism Industry.
Upon entry (having opened a closed door with some trepidation) I was greeted by two people who looked up at me and then back to whatever had previously entertained them. I introduced myself and explained my lack of Slovakian vocabulary and then explained the mutual connections we shared due to tourism work. I was greeted with “ok and what do you want?”
By this point my partner had appeared and pulled me away to explore the souvenirs on offer.
One observation beyond the somewhat cold ‘welcome’ I received is that in a City rich with heritage and architecture, a city so steeped in history and with such a defined identity, the tourist information centre is soulless, lifeless and cold. Any character has been sucked out and replaced with…. Something out of a box - the souvenirs, designed by local artists are an important thing and a lovely addition but they should be an addition, not the sum-total of the entire offering.
There is no shame in moving forward but there should always be reverence paid to the past.

Housed within the Old Town Hall you will find the information centre. On the right you find a good mix of leaflets and brochures covering sights in Kosice and further afield. They have a nice collection of souveiners. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful.

Is it possible to hire an interpreter....perhaps a college student....for a day? I plan to drive to two villages where my grandparents were born and a relative suggested hiring someone to serve as an interpreter.
