As we are staying in the Hotel Danubia Gate this monument to Julius Santisky was just across the road and is a great piece of street art.
A Slovak actor, comedian, singer and writer, this showman was a legend, a winner of the state award Pribina Cross, first class for his contributions to Slovak art.
The statue looks cool,in keeping with some of the great pieces of street art you will find in Bratislava, the statue looks querky, it's certainly one of a kind, very eye catching and makes for some great photographic opportunities.
Easy to locate on Dunajska Street, most definitely well worth seeking out.

A new statue of a slovak actor, placed on the Dunajska street - between the bus station and the city centre. For statue-lovers an attraction visit, for other tourists I do not recommend going here.

This is a wonderful statue that we came across as we were bimbling around this part of town.
The statue and Monument to Julius Satinsky looks fantastic with an eye catching look to it.
The statue is a Monument to the famous actor/comedian Julius Satinsky who lived all his life on Dunajska Street.
In a city with a wealth of interesting and querky statues this is as good as any you will see.
Very easy to locate on Dunajska Street and well worth checking out.

Bratislava is known for its many quirky statues. This one is of a famous slovakian actor who had lived on this street and this statue was erected as a tribute to him when he died. Not quirky for some maybe like the others, but worth a watch - interesting how its pointing to the ear on the wall.

This is a statue of an excellent Slovak actor and comedian Julius Satinsky, who lived all his live on this street. Apparent he moved house 5 times during his life, but always stayed on his beloved Dunajska street. He even wrote a book about this street, "Chlapci z Dunajskej" (Boys from Dunajska street). The author Svetozár Ilavský spent almost two years to create this statue. Notice that he is pointing to the ear on the building.

Not everyone walking by recognize that there is the Ear on 3rd floor of the building next to the statue. Don't miss it, it's a beautiful combination of art setting and hidden meaning to the public.
The status got a good care, still shinning and polished.

The statue of Julius Satinsky is to commerate a comedy actor who was part of a comedy duo. Satinský was not only known as an actor and comedian but also as a radio and TV host, a lecturer who travelled around Slovakia to discuss questions about democracy and civil society.Along with Milan Lasica he sang on several music albums, the most successful being Bolo nás jedenásť.

On 2 January 2002, he received the state award Pribina Cross of the First Class for his lifetime contribution to Slovak art and support for civil society. Silver and chrome make this a stand out statue.
