Traditional Slovak bar with some of the best prices in Bratislava. The beer food is unreal. If you are looking for an authentic experience outside of the madness of the main square this is the bar to try. Absolute gem of a bar can’t recommend enough. Can’t wait to be back

We visited here twice during our weekend stay in Bratislava. It is a very nice and cosy pub with a great feel about it. The staff were very nice and welcoming and service was great throughout both our visits. The beers were nice, as was the wine, and the prices were very reasonable for the area. We had a great couple of visits and we’d definitely return if back in Bratislava.

If you want to take drafted beer in small Pub with atmospehere visit Cierny Pes.
It is located in Bratislava old town, very close to tram stop, Walking distance to Bratislava Castle and Obchodna street.
You can have several kinds of drafted and bottled beers, also with small Appetizers, not really a Food like in Restaurant, but enough.
Visit and enjoy your beer.

This place is a hidden gem and very populat with locals. We often enjoy the ech Bernard beer (especially the dark beer “tmava”). The light meals are great. Often packed so book or get there early. It is closed on Sundays. It is a place we often frequent with friends.

We went here for a few beers on Wed. night 26th June. It was a warm evening. Looking forward to a few beers, we weren't disappointed. Being coeliac, I can only drink gluten free beer or cider. The bar staff were friendly and spoke English well. There were 8 or 9 other people inside having a drink. A nice friendly atmosphere, made for a nice time. Bernard Gluten Free beer 4.9abv. tasted real good, good value 1.80euro.The pub is set back from the hustle and bustle of the town. Well worth the visit. If you're in town, get here and enjoy, we did.

Cierny Pes ( Black Dog ) is a fantastic pub located in the back streets of the Old Town that on any holiday i take to this most beautiful of cities I always make a point of going to.
I love the look of this pub,a great interior ,multi roomed with a rustic look to it ,wonderful decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub ,it's just one great pub to unwind in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday night, this pub was busy with a great atmosphere, after a quick study of the beers on offer we both opted to start with a Bernard beer each ,these were served in tip top condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
I really enjoy Bernard beer, this delicious beer from the Czech republic is such a light and hoppy beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink indeed and a beer style I really love, my twin brother also gave the thumbs up to his beer, while sipping our beers we already had our next beer picked out and we both opted to have Hell Stork Brewery pink city IPA, these were served in absolutely pristine ,again we just savoured our beers and planned out the night ahead in this beautiful city.
The IPA was outstandingly tasty, not over hopped, well balanced and totally drinkable, one absolutely fine session beer that I could have stayed on all night.
We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time.
Cierny Pes is easy to locate on Na Vrsku in the back streets of the wonderful Old Town.
A great pub,well worth checking out if your in the area.

Located not too far from St Michael's Gate - a few minutes to the right of the gate as you enter the old town.
Really great value in this atmospheric cellar bar - 200ml wine €2.40, 500ml St Bernard beer €1.60.
Just up from equally excellent Uisce Beatha.

I will always research places to go on a trip beforehand as really dont want to end up in some awful tourist trap. This lovely bar fitted the bill wonderfully...lovely staff and good beer. The atmosphere was friendly and jolly but not full on or partyish. Just be aware food is not really served, but they do have 3 basic bar snacks...a cheese dish, sausage dish and a garlic bread dish. Great place...but dont tell everyone! Lets keep it local!!

This was one of the nicest places we visited. The beer selection was great and there was table service. It was clearly a very popular place too, so seemed that you'd need to book to get a good table for the evening. It was on a really beautiful lane as well. Really enjoyed this bar.

This was a wonderful pub we found while we were visiting KOSCOL KLARISIEK ( The Clarissine Church ).
Cierny Pes translates as the Black Dog and the pub is wonderful,a great basement pub,great decor,superb furnishing's ,a really nice range of beer's mostly from the Czech republic.
We ordered a nice Czech beer ,namely BERNARD BEER and this was served sparkling and iced cold and we just chilled out in this very pleasant traditional Slovakian pub and soaked up the fabulous atmosphere of this super pub.
We stayed here for a couple of beer's each in here and had a great time.
Everything about this pub was lovely,the staff,beer,decor and location were all brillant.
Easy to locate ,jump the tram 1.5.9 or 10 to stop KAPUCINSKA walk down KLARISKA and cut onto NA VRSKU were you will find this great pub.
Opening hour's are;
Monday to Thursday,midnight to 11.30pm.
Friday,midday till 12.30am.
Saturday,2pm till midnight.
Sunday,closed.
A great pub and well eorth checking out.
