Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you have any remote interest in WW2 then this is worth a visit. We took an Uber for €5 and he dropped us off at the back of the quarry but a quick look at google maps and a 100 meter walk and you’re there. One of the volunteers showed us around and was happy to dress us up - didn’t speak a word of English but we managed. Nicely kept cemetery next door and amazing artifacts inside. We had to walk about half a mile to get back in Uber range which was fine as we passed the Austrian/Slovakian border markers and had some fun there too

This bunker is well preserved and inside filled with what a day was like during the wars. As well, the complex defense of the area comes alive. Make sure to read about this site in advance of visiting. There is very little English. The on-site guide was enthusiastic and engaging! Loved the visit, even though the language was a barrier.

We arrived by taxi and waited 10 min and a lovely guy took us in . Only €5 and it’s a cavern of world war relics that you can touch and try on. The lovely guy spoke no English but went out of his way to explain everything to us best he could it was very much appreciated and understood . If into history it’s a gem to visit

After a short bus trip to Kopcianska bus no 80 from Zochova(old town) , we alighted in what seemed a very run down ex- communist area. We walked the 2km to the bunker to find only the outside door open with no further access even though today’s opening hours were meant to be 2-6. The cemetery doesn’t open until April 1st. Slightly disappointed but guess we got to see the mock up border and envisage what life used to be like in the surrounding countryside.

This was one of my trip highlights on my 1-month trip to Europe.

It does seem to be an informal tourist site, so accessing it will take some planning/preparation. The e-mail contact that I used to arrange this tour was: miro.kosirer@gmail.com. You can confirm with Miro when it will be opened during your stay.

Miro does not speak English so keep your expectations realistic. We happened to be there during an kids camp, and Miro got one of the camp volunteers/workers to provide English translations for us.

Through the translator, Miro gave us a tour inside the bunker. He is an animated and enthusiastic person, who made the tour interesting. As other pictures posted indicate, you can even try on authentic WWII attire. It was quite something to see the authentic Nazi leather jacket with the swastika arm band logo. As you will learn through this tour, Hitler visited this very bunker.

We took Uber to get there and back from downtown. We got dropped off at a trail, where you need to walk a ways before you get to a T-intersection. Turn right to find the old Cemetery. The bunker is next to this Cemetery.

2 hours out of my life I'll never get back. Took bus 80 as recommended. It only went 4 stops and we were chucked off. "It's only 30 mins walk from here " so off we went following google maps. We walked round a huge industrial estate. That was wrong. Got back on track. Walked another mile or 2 and ended up at a cement works. That was wrong. Back on track. Found the sign. Kept walking. Found another sign. Kept walking. Finally found the bunker (pronounced Bonkeeer). It was closed. At 3pm on a Tuesday, its supposed to be open. It was all locked up. I phoned the number. A grumpy man answered & only spoke Slovak. Not helpful. We were not happy. Walked back to the bus stop. What a waste of a precious afternoon.

Excellent and authentic museum! Lots of original items inside and very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable staff on hand to explain the bunkers historical significance.
Although it is easy to get to on foot, do follow the directions as written on the website however strange they may seem!

A great experience and worth the visit. It’s difficult to find though, Google Maps will try to bring you through a quarry/building site but that road is now closed.

The tour costs €5 per person and the tour guide doesn’t speak English, so bring someone who can translate if you can. Still he tried his best with both of us using broken German and English.

There’s a cemetery to World War 1 casualties beside it you can also see while you’re there.
