Slovak National Uprising square, is an area in central Bratislava named after the insurgency of 1944. It has been the hub of city life and a prestigious address for 600 years. It is a nice place to visit and reflect on the history of the area.

This square contains the SNP memorial, commemorating the uprising of the Slovaks against the occupation by the Nazis during WW2. It's a pretty little square located just outside of the old town. A short visit is sufficient.

A small little area next to a busy road has a monument in it to celebrate an important part of Slovakian history. You only need a short time to see this area but it is worth the trip as it is not far from the old town. The downside was that it wasn't more peaceful.

A church, a lot of coffe houses and restaurants, and Soviet statues, to remember Slovakia's past. This was one of the places where people were gathering to protest again the soviet friendly regime.
